Ended up driving the YamaHauler to Woodland on Saturday.....as I took a mate of mine who's never been to that track yet.....he's a BMX freak & loves MX in general.....needless to say......he loved it!! Again, the FrankenBike Hodaka was there.......went well too! A girl actually raced this old Beast..... GOT TO BE 1 of the Cleanest old KX's I've ever seen Evidence of the new class structure is starting to show..... Not necessarily "Vintage", but a slick bit-o-kit......Rotax powered......& built here in the states Sez it all ...... Those were the only still shots I took this time (for a change)...... Now f…

I have taken my 07 1100 and bought a new Cobra 2 into 1 HP Pro exhaust system with a hypercharger and stinger. Of course I am having engine rejetted for this mod. Has anyone else tried this configuration? If so how is it working out? I am curious to see if there will be a performance increase. Also I hear that the engine is governed electronically. Does anyone know of a computer replacement to remove this governor. Thanks in advance Jim

  6. hi folks, not sure if this was the right place (again) so apologies if not. my XVS1100 will be here in a few weeks and as i'm a good citizen i would like to pick up some old stock pipes before i take it to the DVLA to be registered and VOSA tested. only required temporarily (on the offchance someone local has a spare set) because i will off course be replacing them as soon as i'm on the road, needless to say with a government approved exhaust and big baffles to dampen down all that horrible engine noise that could disturb the native hedgehogs & sparrows. best place to find stock pipes or known wreckers yards who deal with yamahas anyone? Grave(ly…

I just purchased a 2007 Yamaha Vstar 1300 Tourer and I was wondering if anyone had any experience or opinions on some of the after market rear lowering kits that are out on the market. I will also be carrying a passenger so I was wondering if anyone needed to replace the rear spring or do anything to compensate for the height adjustment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom

Just bought my 07 Vstar 1300 and am approaching the first valve adjutment interval. The Yamaha maintenance manual states that you have to drain engine coolant, remove throttle bodies, intake manifold assemblies, thermostat inlet hoses etc. Has anyone done a valve adjustment on this bike? Is all this draining and removal really necessary? Thanks for your input.

Hi. Having trouble finding a replacement throttle cable or cables for my xvs125 Dragstar, have tried e-bay etc but can only find one set of used and he's wanting £21 the cost of a new set Theres only the open cable snapped fhe shut offs ok and dont fancy fitting a set of used ones which could be on there way out.. Can any one advise me of an online dealership who stock them. Ive tried every where but tinternet just keeps giving me the run arround. leading me back to e-bay and for some reason a xvs starter cable and the second hand ones. Is there any other model of 125s that use the same cables or even cable (open not shutoff cable) that is compatable? If so…

alright! got my YZ400 cylinder... plopped right on without any worries. the cylinder head studs are a shorter length than the DTs, but i have yet to try and remove the studs from one of my DT cylinders to see if i can pull them off. if i can, i could swap them out. the reed cages are different, although the early YZs and DT bikes seem to use the same reeds according to boyesen. so there will still be a bit of research, and parts sourcing... but it's a good start it seems. the head plopped right on too, save for the stud length. just the debate is whether i use a DT series piston, or a YZ series piston? i am leaning towards the YZ series. although i don't have a year…

I've found that as you get older time seems to pass that much quicker - until now! Waiting on my XJ6 to get delivered and it's taking too long. Lol.
