Hi, Just joined the site. I had a look at it earlier today at work and you seem like a decent bunch My boyfriend has an R1 as well as several other bikes. He is mad on bikes, goes all over following the GP. I've finally agreed to go out on the R1 for the 1st time next week!!! I am so scared, but I want to do it. Just not sure how I'm going to hang on!! I thought I'd better join a club so that I can learn a bit about bikes......I have horses so if anyone needs advice on them...I'm your woman. Maria.

I apologize in advance if I wasn't supposed to post this here, I am just not getting any replies in any of the other bike forums I tried. My dad owns a 1974 Yamaha 200 Electric. It hasn't been fired since 1978, and has 3400 original miles on it. It has been stored in his shop since 1981 and everything is original, even the tires and light bulbs. The bike is in perfect condition, except for the dust on it. When it ran in 1978 it ran perfectly, but it was given to him by his dad who didn't ride it any longer. My dad just never felt like learning to ride a motorbike. He is a pack rat, so that is why he still owns the bike. He finally decided that he wants t…

Hi All, new to the forum so that I'd post up and introduce myself. Name is Stuart and I'm from Aberdeen. Just passed my test the other day and have purchased a brand new Fz6 (getting registered Monday). I work as a Network Security Analyst and Technical Consultant which unfortunately means using the bike for commuting is impossible - kind of hard to carry servers etc on a bike! Very much looking forward to gettting out on the road to practice and get used to the bike. I'm booking advanced lessons with an ex motorbike cop in the coming weeks and would like to achieve some sort of advanced riding certification. Will be a challenge, but I want to be …
