I've broken my bike! I suspect it's from push starting it when I was fed up with trying to kick start it (low on gas and trying to get to the gas station). Once it started after push-starting, the engine sounded TERRIBLE! When I stopped the engine because of the horrible noise, the kick-starter wouldn't move more than an eighth of the way down. Backing the bike up in gear reset the kick-start, but the engine still sounded awful when started. I've checked the cylinder and piston and everything is A-OK. What could I have done? Gears broken? Crankshaft bent? It's just so darn hard to get in there!!! Luckily I found anther engine and kick assembly on eBay, bu…

i just bought my husband a 1979 yamaha 1100xs. it now seems to have an oil leak but we can't tell where the oil is coming from, it only seems to leak when he is riding it, the first real ride he was able to take it on is when the leak appeared. he even found oil dripping out of the air filter compartment, so we replaced the air filter. and he had found a loose hose clamp which he thought was the problem. so he replaced that but today when he took it out again the same thing happened. He did say he left the gas tank on choke when he rode it, i don't know if that could cause a problem? if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

.....cos I've had to say goodbye to an old friend! The mighty XT is now on it's final journey back to Wales. For the first time in my life (and that's 54 bikes in the last 36 years)....I'm genuinely sorry to see a bike go. I've never owned a bike for the length of time I've had the XT, and it's never missed a beat here, or in the UK. But the bureaucracy surrounding importing foreign vehicles into Spain makes it very difficult to register it here. I've had to ride it illegally for the last year, and now the Guardia Civil is cracking down on Brit plate vehicles, I have no other option than to ship it back. A mate of mine in Cardiff has bought it.....and…

Yo people, im 17 have been riding bikes since i was 8, i beleive im a competent and able rider. (Of course i think that) Basically i saw the TDM 850 (newer model) and thought that i should get a new bigger bike, after having done my full test of course. Any Advice on taking the full test would be great aswell by the way. As im under 21 or havent ridden with a full liscence for 2 years ill have to restrict my bike to 33bhp regardless of which bike it is, now at stock the TDM 850 has 80BHP, now ive been told that aslong as the bike has relative torque the restriction shouldn't present too much of a problem, however the TDM is quite a heavy bike, although i dont intend…

Hi all... After a few weeks without a bike I popped down to my local dealer to have a look..sat on a FZ6n and it felt perfect for me and my dodgy back... Anyways after a bit of negotiation I managed to get a new s2 spec with R&G bungs and official tank pad for £4250 on the road inc 12months tax - it was pre reg'd but I thought it was a good deal!? Anyways, picking it up in a few days but have just realised it does not have a hugger as standard ( I think) if it does not is it worth having one? Cheers all
