Hey peeps. All well? Just trawling info on really (stampy) heavy downshifts on the Divvy 600n, (98). I'm probably overdue a new clutch cable as I've got a wobbly lever but for now it's relatively fine on the upshift etc. Really just going into first. Any info grately appreciated.I may even buy you a drink!

I know this isn't bike related, but I reckon I can't be the only one that uses a wireless network at work or home and should take notice of this. Or not. It's your choice. Basically, this link: http://www.networkworld.com/news/2008/1106...tory=ts_wpahack is a news story relating the first serious hack of a wireless network with WPA encrytion enabled. Cold temps don't bother me - I've gotten on my bike when it was 19°F. (That's -7°C for those that use that weird scale. ) But two wheels and slick roads just don't mix. If I get out tomorrow, it'll be in the Jeep!

Get this- my bike was stolen couple of weeks back and found by the police not too far from my home. They took it in to impound for finger print analysis (whatever- if they even do that) and said they would ring when we could pick it up. Phoned last thur but was unable to get it straight away. Got a letter through the post demanding stating we had to pay 420 pounds to get it back. They have charged storage fee since the day they picked it up...I could have picked it up from day 1 in my van and not had to pay a bloody penny.   How do i get my money back?!! Any suggestions welcome (non violent) ...maybe

Tonight I went to the football, and saw my team get knocked out of the finals. (They were terrible!!!). On my way home, a Yamaha XV 1700 pulled up alongside me at the lights. They changed, and he just sailed into the distance, despite the fact that I was accelerating so hard my front wheel was only just skipping along the ground. (And his exhaust note was utterly gorgeous!) I haven't heard from my lady friend for three days. Is it any wonder that at this moment I am the drunkest person ever to post on this forum? I take comfort that there is another bottle of Scotch in the cupboard. Does anyone blame me?

Hello! Been registered on here since last May but never formally said 'Hello'. I own a '91 FZR600 which I swapped for a Honda CB400 Superfour - seem to remember Goff being on 400GB for a while? I have found some useful advice and some bargains on here (thanks mad73!). I need to put a wanted thread up but according to the post police , I am a newbie so thought I'd finally introduce myself! Bonzo.

Just got back from Matlock. Had an adrenaline fueled ride there and back. It was an awesome ride in both directions, and Matlock itself was extra busy (spolied a bit by LOADS of Harleys), but the trip up there was marred. As I got on to the A610, at about (the speed I was going) I felt something hit my back, then I caught a glimpse of something flying through the air. I pulled over, and found that my single seat unit had blown off! I couldnt see it anywhere. So, after a 1/4 mile walk down the bypass, I walked back up the central reservation, and I found it lying at the edge of the outer lane on the opposite carriageway! Its not looking very healthy anymore, but not as ba…

As I'm sure were all in the process of waking our bikes up from their winter snooze, excepting the hero's that ride all year. (been there fk that). Cleaned the bike, new chain, new oil run her up to operating temp, all good. Then decided on a run out to fill her up with some good fuel. Had an ok trip, did around 8 or 10 miles and the bike felt good. So, open her up for a bit of a blast on some local roundabouts where she goes unhappy. Carb had flooded shutting down one cyl 10 miles from home. I'm considering calling the man with a van when inspiration strikes, 99% of the way home is country road, soooooo, while the engine was still hot I pushed it back to…

Dumb question, can't find an answer on google and waiting for Haynes manual to arrive - how much play should there be in the chain? Mine seems quite loose, almost touching in places. Also, I've been advised to keep checking some gap, but was only a passing comment and was called away so couldn't clarify - any ideas? Apparently common thing on these older SR's?

What a girl! A proper birthday present, better than the new spray job for me bike that was classed as "timed out" by the time i got it done. Silverstone at the end of April. With me mates, camping the night before, should be a laff. Its the national circuit, to tell the truth i havent got a clue where the track goes except for Bridge, Luffield and the straight, anyone know where i can find the track layout for the Nash Circuit. Its strange, there are other tracks that ive never ridden on that i know where they go, but not Silverstone.
