Wow, the wheels on the tdr have been in and out like a porn stars pecker lately what with offering these Aprilia wheels up. Fringe benefit was noticing the front caliper was sticking so got that fixed, nothing more than a clean. Much better brake now so it was long overdue, (slaps hand). Went out today for a blast, er, I mean bed the front brake back in and make sure she's all good. As well as get some fuel to use it for work next week and it just felt wrong, the bike or I was just off. I felt very vulnerable which has never happened before on the TDR. So to get the monkey off my back (I genuinely felt very uncomfortable) I pulled up in the first spot I could and had…

Electrics are not my thing, I have a 2stroke moped i'm going to be working on and the battery drains after a few days, new battery, it charges fine from the mains, its ridden every day so should get a decent charge, all the lights work fine when running its just not topping up the battery? I have a multimeter, what things should I be checking for when I get it? obviously output from stator and checking the voltage at the battery when running but apart from that my knowledge is limited, I would have thought if the lights work then surely the power has to go thru the battery first? therefor it should be charging?

Hi guys, As some of you will know I picked up my new and first bike the other day. I have a lots of words for this bike, but one comes to mind...amazing! I've done around 250 miles over the weekend all on A/B roads, countryside and town and have to say as per the short test ride the weekend before on the demo I have found this bike amazingly easy to ride. I'm 42, 6'1 (183cm) 80kg/just under 13 stone, have slightly shorter legs then average, size 9.5/44 feet ... funny to put all this but I point this out as I really struggled to get comfortable on most sports bikes I tried! Some of this though would be down to new boots and leathers. …

Well, what a cracking weekend that was. Seeing and listening to all the stuff going on behind the scenes was something else, professionalism taken to a new (maybe too much at times) level. Thursday night started by walking around the paddock with a cold beer and then into pitlane to see the MotoGP bikes started and ran through the gears Friday work started at Pit Lane exit for Free Practice Saturday more of the same and then qualifying (did you know that during MotoGP quali and races you cannot walk across pitlane anywhere without a helmet on ?) Sunday pit lane exit for warmups followed by grid boards (I was on Row 2) and yellow flags for the start of the rac…

I mean it, DO NOT underestimate Finnerez on his dt, ok on an open road you may toast him. But you will be lured into its web of country roads full of blind apex bends and he is GONE. That thing changes direction like a housefly, you will be humbled. You have been warned

My neighbor has an XS750, the tacho stopped working two days ago and he asked me to have a look, when I got there this morning I took the cable off and found out it was totally seized (Like not from rust, from fraying and tangling itself up it seems), put on the cable he bought as a replacement and it still didn't work, on closer inspection we found the drive gear wasn't turning. I took the valve cover off and to our horror we found out that the drive gear has totally eaten itself, the bevel drive on the camshaft is basically gone. Now the real problem. All the shavings seems to have been swept into the depths of the engine. Do you think it's game over? I'm guessing…

Well, it wouldn't be a new month without something new coming into the unit. Continuing the trend, it's an XS500... Built to do 70's class races in France, owner did two races, had a motorcycle accident (not on the track) and couldn't ride the bike any more. There are no lights, but unlike the flat-tracker it has its brakes, good tyres and has passed race scrutineering before, appears to be well built and very clean, had it running today and it certainly gets a move on, charging system appears to be intact, needs a silencer to be anywhere near road legal though, figured it could be an early birthday present to myself. Oh a…

Hi there, just joined the site. I recently bought a 2009 WR125 and the engine light is permanently on, not flashing. The last owner said this happened when somebody knocked the bike over. Im also having problems with the neutral light, sometimes the bike doesn't recognise when it is in neutral. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The bike seems to be running well. Many thanks, Nick

Hi there, I have a Thundercat which is running hot when stationary (i.e. in traffic). The fan doesn't kick in until well into the red which I understand is common but it has actually boiled over before now. I am going to change the thermo switch for a lower operating spec switch so just canvassing opinion on what would be the optimum temperature for the engine to run at please? Any information greatly appreciated, Cheers, Lee

I was unable to find a replacement in the UK and am wondering if anyone knows of any other swinging arms will fit onto the DT50MX frame (1987) like some do with the Yamaha XS650 Thanks
