Hello all, ive got a dilemma, I want to get an exhaust for my wr125x. I don't know what one seems best? Full arrow system, or bigone? They're both around the same price, £250 on eBay. What would you guys recommend ? Thanks guys! hope I've posted this in the correct place!

  3. Started by Yzrider,

I've recently brought a Yamaha Xt125x 09 plate and its been fine for a week but the other day I rode about 20miles, stopped off at the shop in my village and then rode down towards my house about 20secs down the road with the choke on because I like to start it with the choke on and forgot to take it off again but anyway I got 20secs down the road and it just bogged out and died. After a trying to start a few times it went using the kick start so I thought it was fine except when I pressed the electric start it made a buzzing noise from under the seat (i have very few mechanical skills so not sure what it is hence this post) I rode it home and then about an hour later I w…

  4. Right, I /NEED/ a new barrel and piston, as in I can't get to college without my bike. A new barrel and piston from Yamaha (sit down for this big fucking surprise) is gonna cost well over £300, obviously I can't afford this. There are other, aftermarket barrels available on eBay, generally range from £38 to £50. What do you think of them? Obviously they're shitty Chinese rubbish, but how bad do you think they really are? Keep in mind that without the bike I'm basically stranded on top of a tiny village in the middle of bum-fuck-nowhere in north Wales. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cylinder-Barrel-Piston-Kit-For-YAMAHA-YBR125-YBR-125-Cylindre-/321946041092?hash=…

Afternoon Here's a thoroughly dull question for you. I'm replacing the front disc on the 125 and need to change the bolts as they look a bit shoddy. Can I get some in the same dimensions from a local nut & bolt dealer or would they need to be specifically Yamaha / motorcycle specific?

  8. mystery caller at 5:45 woke mw up and it was a withheld number :/ never mind the sun was out, clear skies, time to get the FZ out and go the devils bridge in Kirkby lonsdale. Boy was it cold, salt on the roads and a bit of ice ice baby through Pendle. had to stop for a pee so took a couple of pickies. For some reason the tickover went to 4k revs, took on some fuel at a country garage where locals keep their engine running whist shopping (i kid you not) Went to start the bike and it was fine ever since. must be a bit of crud somewhere. met 1 biker at DB he was from Leeds on his new Honda, the one…

  9. hi lads, basically I managed to buy another dtr125 a couple hours ago but this one has a dtre engine and they've used the dtr loom (I think) and have just chopped it up in places, the lad I got it off had it running 3weeks ago but now it wont start, the engine feels spot on (better then my last one if I'm honest) so I don't think its anything to do with that, more to do with this loom, the snorkel being ripped out and some plum screwing a oil pump cover there to try to cover the hole, it has a mikuni carb on it which I don't think my previous one had and it also came with a 30mm oko carb (not sure about that either to be honest my brains a sieve lol als…

  11. well my looms finally arrived (iv got 2 just incase got them cheap so had to be done) basically I cant work this loom out and its driving me nuts, I'm not the most patient person and I'm literally 10mins away from dropping a match into the tank, can anyone come help me install this loom? I don't care about lights or clocks or any of that, itll probably just get daytime mot'd anyway, so all I really need is the bike starting. as iv said iv got two looms so one can be stripped down to just what I need for it to start and I can keep the other for if I ever have lights etc put on it. I really am lost, I thought it would be straight forward but obviously not... any…

Afternoon As you can see I'm new to this forum and also to geared bikes. I have an annoying rattle on my bike and was wondering if anyone knows what it could be. When I'm in a low gear i.e pulling away or slowing down and changing down the gears an annoying rattle starts, but when I start to pick up speed again the rattle stops. When I am going slow the rattle stops when the clutch is in and the revs are off. Any ideas? Thanks D

Ok so I noticed yesterday on my XV125 the speedo states Km/h on it and has the usual speeds up to 100, obviously at first you would assume the numbers are in Km/h but they don't as I've checked with phone trackers and such, anyone know why is this. Doesn't say MPH at all on speedo

  20. Thought I would post some pics of some additions. All basic, unlike some of the work people are doing on here.. Added screen (tiny and pointless one!) Engine sliders, and some new levers. Had new tyes fitted today and the guy said my clutch was too tight and needed some slack (something about damage when it heats up?) Is this true? He loosened it a bit but I prefered it the way I had it.. sure I will adapt though. Another thing mentioned was that the head bearings seem to be "notched" as in front wheel kind of tries to stay in the centre. I didn't really notice till he mentioned it. Not sure if I am (or should be) bothered. Next up I think frame sliders and knu…
