Good Morning, Please could someone help me out with the correct tyre pressure for a Yamaha SR 125. I have searched numerous sites and got several different answers. I have looked for the stickers on the bike, ETC with no luck, and i have not been able to find a manual yet. Thanks in Advance

Hi, First post on this, just after a bit of advice. I have recently bought a 600 Fazer, W reg, and seem to have some problems starting it with a cold engine. If I start it like I normally would on a bike, it will fire up, and then die. So I find that I have to push the button, turn the throttle and hold it for a couple of seconds to keep it ticking over. I have looked at the plugs, cleaned some dirt off them and put them back in. My other thought is that would it be related to the carbs at all? As when I start it, with choke, and set it so it's ticking over (just above 1,000 revs), it is on the side stand. But then if I am to sit on the bike and lean it up right, after…

I am the proud owner of a 77 dt250. Ground up. All seals replaced in the engine. Wiesco 1mm over piston and rings. Boyensen reed valves. New points and condensor. Spent countless hours getting the timing right. It has a horrible mid range miss. Plug is dark black carbon. Stock jetting in carb. Float is set correctly. Starts like a champ first kick. Excellent compression. Dialed the injection pump back a little from factory recommended. Using Mobil 1 synthetic 2 cycle. Any thoughts? Some smoking at idle. Not a fogging but noticeable. Just sputters at a steady throttle.

As we're all approaching wooly long-john season and another cold winter, I was just wondering what tips anyone has for keeping their bikes protected from the elements overnight ? My bike sits on the driveway and sadly I don't have a garage (yet) & will have to make do with the driveway for at least this winter. Just worried that the ol' bike covers won't do the trick. Any help (as always) would be much appreciated.

So I go to get some oil for my bike as I've worked out she is a little low (after finding out where the viewing hole is and getting some to hold the bike up) and I've bought some Castrol Power 1 4T 10w-40. Had a look in the manual and whilst 10w-40 is fine the API should be SE, SF, SG or higher and as this is SJ, I presumed this will be fine. I had a quick look online as I know nothing about API ratings and apparently I shouldn't be using SJ and now I'm just confused. What are peoples recommendations as to the oil I should be using? Cheers /Steve

On the Newbies' forum, I have been told that if I increase the size of the front sprocket on a 125i YBR it is unlikely to have any effect as the bike probably won't reach a high enough rpm - many thanks for that information. Currently, the bike reaches about 8000rpm, which (according to "Gearing Commander") means a top speed of about 60mph. In reality although I have made it to the mid to high sixties (GPS), in general the bike runs at about 55 to 60mph. My problem is that at those speeds you become prey for vans or small lorries. I find that on dual carriageways, I find myself catching up with them, but as I attempt to overtake I am struggling to do so. I know th…

Hiya all.... For fear of asking a silly question, it is a Friday after all so will ask it any ways... I'm an XT125 owner (nearly)..... which means i've now managed to rebuild my box of bits into something that resembles an XT and the machine burst into life last weekend when power was applied....so now its a case of fitting the last few bits.... one of which is the chain/sprokets... I ordered up a chain set and when it arrived i noticed it is a continuous chain with a soft link.... my question is, not wishing to now go to the expense of a slitting tool, is it possible to replace the soft link with a split link and get a bike garage to split the chain for me so i …

Hi all, Been posting on here for a while (mostly re my piece of rubbish SR125 that has now soldiered on dragging my 18 stone bulk over 30,000 miles!). As some of you may know, when I was 17 I had my full bike course booked when a week before I got knocked off by a van and missed it! After getting over that I ended up buying a car and spending my money on drink etc until I bought my SR125 a 2 years ago (I'm still only 21!) I have now booked my DAS which is great news If things all go well I shall be fully licenced around 3pm on the 3rd December and I have never ever been so excited as getting my licence has been something I've wanted to do since I …

Hi, has anyone tried a 70 profile on the front of an 2002 R6, I need new tyres and the 60 profile is often more expensive or not available. Please I know tyres are black and round and there is one on the front and one on the back.

Hi all, Just picked up a nice set of used Scorpion cans & link pipes at what I think was good value. Now, they don't have a BS stamp, but on the flip side they aren't stamped as 'not for road use' Reckon the bike will pass MOT with them on? It's a while off, and no big job swooping them back off for the test, but I'm curious!
