Hi, new member here though long time lurker!! Having just passed my Direct Access test I am looking at moving on from my current Honda 125VT Shadow and having been a long admirer of Yamaha bikes I have come across a 1999 'T' Yamaha YZF 600R Thundercat for sale at a local dealer for £2,195. The bike has done about 22k miles and having had a quick look one lunchtime seems to be in relatively good condition. Having read up on the bike over the last few days the general consensus seems to be that the bike is a realtively good 600 sports/tourer with little in the way of mechanical problems. What I am asking of you good people is, does anyone here have a list of things t…

Hi everyone I'm an ex pom now living in Australia - near Melbourne. Lived in England until I was 40, then emigrated for a much warmer climate and brilliant biking roads. Now retired. Had mostly Hondas in the last 12 years - 3VFR's, 2 Blackbirds, Firestorm, Fireblade. I change regularly and currently have a 2005 VFR but getting bored and Honda seem to have lost interest in upgrading the VFR and Blackbird, so I am looking to get an FZ1S as soon as I sell the VFR. Look forward to reading posts and contributing, once I am an owner. If anyone is contemplating a holiday down under I will be happy to act as a guide, on roads around where I live (some of the best in A…

Hello, My name's Steve and im new I live in Derby and am looking into getting a new bike to get me from Derby to Nott's on the weekdays and then out for fun on the weekends. I used to have a Derbi Sender a few years ago but got rid as soon as i got my car license and now see that wasn't such a good idea. I'm potentially looking into getting a WR125X, thinking maybe in black or maybe white. Just looking for some opinions on them really, i will be mod'ing it a little bit, having quite a big background in car modifications so it wont stay stock for too long but im wondering what potential they have as well? Regards Steve

  12. Hi,My name is Steve, this is this first time i have been a YOC member, and a Yamaha owner, thats not to say i am new to bikes, over the years i have had a few different makes . I have recently bought a XJ600 Diversion that has been stood for some time, it is generally in good condition. I started with the usual tank drain and fill with new 'fresh' fuel, it took a while to coax it into life but perseverance paid off and after about 15 mns it spluttered into life . Now the plugging of the grey matter, it starts without having to use the choke , but once it is running takes a long time to warm up and respond to the throttle (if i start it using the choke it …

  13. Hi , I'm logging in to help a friend who has bought a bike here in Ireland and doesn't know the model name, he can't get insurance without it and apparently it was imported from the us in 1997. I don't have a pic but am going to look at it tomorrow. It says its a Yamaha custom on the tank and its a 750, he recons it's a four pot inline and arranged from left to right while sitting on the bike.ITs a single seat and built/sold org in 1988... Straight bars and a fat rear tyre with a tight fitting mudguard. I know this may be a home made special but he's hoping its a prod bike for insurance reasons... Anyone know what model it may be by my hazy description....

Hi there I am new to this forum and bikes in general. I bought a Yamaha YBR 125 last year which worked fine when I first got it. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances towards the end of last year I had to leave the bike locked up in the garage for about six months. I have kept the battery charged and the bike in good condition but when I tried to start it up to get out on the road again it just won't start. Either with the starter button or kick start.. Any idea's or pointers would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks
