Last night it (the 83 XJ900) finally started . After sitting for about 10 yrs, it is rough but ran for about 5 minutes while Playing with the idle. Got a miss or two and got spark shooting out of the exhaust which is way to loud (guessing some rust etc). Choke cable was seized solid so thats off for now. Piece by piece....

And I'm not afraid to admit that I've struggled! Like today, I had to be careful I didn't get sunburnt! And the offroading has been done in treacherous conditions! Hell....I nearly got sand in my shoe once! But I can handle it! I'm hardcore I am!

.....so I thought I'd bring you guys up to date! Here's a little spin I had yesterday in the Altiplano region of Granada, Spain! Rain was forecast for later today.....so instead of getting out early to avoid the heat, it's getting out early to avoid the rain! Went through Orce..... ....then onto some nice open roads.... Recently fitted handlebar risers and Grip Puppies.....both make a hell of a difference to general comfort! Plenty of wide open spaces...... Then the roads get a bit rough... And you eventually end up in Galera! Bit disappointed I didn't run into a nice young chica who's into riding as I did recently..... ....…

I am so excited. Picked up my new R6 on Saturday. I did have a J1 ZX6 and the difference is amazing. Of course I couldn't pick up just the standard model I have had a Micron high level stainless steel can put on and a cowl. I have short legs so they have also pushed the forks through the yolks for me to lower it a bit, and have also taken off the back foot rests so it looks like the dogs b*****ks!!! Of course fingers were crossed on Saturday night down the pub that the weather for Sunday would be dry and not quite so cold............and God answered my prayers. 7am and I was looking out the window waking up the hubby. Finally got out on it at 12pm. Smile …

  10. Only two weeks to go, have a great Xmas everyone and I look forward to seeing and meeting you in the new year. ...Paul Heres a 'touching' Xmas tale. It's nice how Christmas spirit brings out the best in everyone!! There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about. The letter read: Dear God, I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, wh…

so many bikes going up the road past my house the last few days. there is a camp site a few miles along and i think there must be a club meet or something happening. i have listened to everything from, big 4 sports bikes, to ducati's, harleys, classic japs, even some old brit iron 8) i had a nice run with a z1000 owner the other day, he came over to to me in the petrol station and asked the way to portpatrick, so i said he could just follow me as i live there. very nice guy he was too, the biking spirit is still alive 8) now i must go along to the camp site and see what's happening

Taken it out for a short spin so far. Wow. Needing to stop putting the same sort of twist of the throttle compared to the YBR. I'm at 30 before I can even blink!

  14. This is my first time facing snow/icy weather but I plan on riding through it, if the weather isn't too severe that is. After my first fall (video below) just the other day - which was completely rider error as you can hear the over-revving just before I came off - I'm having some doubts whether it's possible to ride in these conditions no matter how aware and careful you are. So I'm wondering how many of you ride through the winter time and who puts their bikes away. Would also love to hear some tips I also bought a can of these Tyre Grip sprays which has great reviews so I'll be trying that out. The first fall - no damage to the bike, the foot peg and break ped…

As I say every year, Scott's a great guy and a real biker....though his personal grooming does leave a lot to be desired! And how much longer can the bloody Line Dancing Hillbilly get away with claiming to be younger than me? And how much longer can he deny using hair colourant? He might fool the rest of the Trailer Park....but he's not fooling me! So let's hear it for Scott.....and as a Birthday treat, here's his all time favourite! "But don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart I just don't think it'd understand And if you tell my heart, my achy breaky heart He might blow up and kill this man Ooo"

Hello to all, Just introducing myself to you all, My name is Andrew, I am from The East Midlands, I have a red Yamaha RXS100 which I purchased 3 months ago after having an old honda 16 years ago which had to go when the wife said!!!. The RXS was a bike I always admired and when I saw her I was in love again. she has 30,000 but has had two very carefull owners, the last who replaced any piece of crome showing any signs of wear (mr.perfectionist). The bike has and will be kept dry as I only use the bike for pleasure. CBT was a bind as I never needed one with my first bikes (D.S.A. £ ???) Taken CBT ... july 08 Theory ... july 08 Regards, Romec…
