when did the requirement to put pedals on 49cc come into effect in the uk, ie a moped? Googled and got naff all!

This is my first post (other than my introduction). Forgive me if this is not the appropriate forum for this question. I am getting my dad's old 1968 Yamaha YL-1 back on the road. Hasn't been driven in decades. I restore vintage Volkswagens but I know nothing about motorcycles, so I appreciate any help greatly. after 6 months with my bike in teh garage, getting on and off the centre stand at least once a day, ive managed to start wearing away my concrete floor in the garage i found one solution is to place a floor plate down http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/74424]like this, but i can only seem to find such a product for a side stand, and it's not wide enough to take a centre stand has anyone else found a solution, preferably one that can also hide the dirty marks ive left behind (the pains is worn away, and theres some little holes where the concrete itself has been worn away thanks people!

When I did my CBT the guy told me that it will cost me around £700-800 altogether to get my full licence. I'm at the point now where I need to do it because my 125 is just not giving me that buzz any more, even though still love it. Morning All I've just serviced my 600fzs fazer 2002 and everything seems to be running perfectly. The bike is new to me since passing my test in October and since riding it for the first time there has always been what I can only describe as a Howling/sreaming noise that seems to be coming from the front end. It doesn't kick in until about 25mph and gets progressively louder and the pitch gets higher the faster you go! It's had new quality brake pads, there is no play in the front bearing at all and the break discs are in excellent condition. I've even taken off the front mud guard extension to see if that was rubbing on the nearly new tyre to see if that makes a diffe…

when i bought my xs400 in 1982 I ran it on 4 star petrol or even 2 star if money was low. since I put her back on the road last year iv'e been using lead replacement additive by redex but finding it harder to find lately iv'e seen something on ebay that looks like three lead weights in some chicken wire, that you just drop in the tank, has anyone else used one and do they work. still got to refurb tank so meantime still using redex. but would appreciate any info thanks..

Right folks, just had my bike sorted. The steering was very stiff and dodgy and I thought it was the steering bearings or something. I am such a fucking retard, get to the garage and straight away the guy tells me my front tyre is flat. I didn't even notice. I feel a right idiot. I'm going to be moving in the new year and I need to think about storage for my bike(s). I want to get at least two more bikes on top of my WR. I want a 125 2T and a crosser for the weekends. I've been looking at the metal sheds you can buy and they seem to be the best option. I would imagine that they are really thin and easy to break into. Does anyone have one, or something similar?

Hi all, Just purchased my first bike, a new ybr125 and for the first 80 miles loved it! However the last 30 miles or so the bike has had problems going into third. I give it a firm flick and nothing but resistance with the clutch firmly in. This happens around 80% of the time and its very frustrating. It does however work second time everytime which i find very strange. Also When going from 3rd to 4th somtimes there there is no feedback at all no click or clunk, it goes but feels as though it hasnt if that makes sense? If anyone could help with this it would be much appreciated. Lee

Well peeps I got back to the UK this afternoon and started about sorting the FJ for its MOT tomorrow. First on my list was fix that oil leak/smoke screen, from what I thought was the rocker cover gasket only to find this: P/O sheared the bolt off in the head, and then just held it in with silicon!, I mean sure I fix things with bodge tape and cable ties but that's just on a whole new level. If it doesn't pass tomorrow I'm gonna be walking for a few months! :/

Currently got the 650 Dragstar which I have enjoyed but I am now hankering back to what I would call a normal bike. The wife doesn't find the Draggy's pillion perch very comfortable over distance so her wants are better pillion seat and ideally some lockable luggage that can take two helmets and possibly our jackets. My wants on top of hers are full fairing for better weather protection and more oomph. Any one got any suggestions on what to start looking at based on experience? Doesn't have to be Yamaha as I may keep the Draggy as a summer run around.
