  2. In August of this year, myself and a group of work mates arranged and obviously participated in a sponsored motorcycle ride from John o'Groats to Lands End, using no motorways ... (some of you may remember me posting details of it up before hand) Well MCN have finally decided it was worthy of a mention and it's in this weeks issue (6th Feb 08). We get a 2 page write up (page 46/47). Not the best bit of editting on the full report they were provided with but at least we made it in! We raised £12,595 between the 9 of us for Cancer Research UK !

Hey guys, I had a bright idea this year, did my direct access and bought a fz600s as I passed my test, only been on a bike for 5 days!!!! I love him (sorry guys mines a he! and he's called Moby) and I am having so much fun riding even in this weather. However I seem to have a non starter this morning (and its such a gorgeous day outside!) been to halfords, bought a battery charger but now have no idea where to attach it? please help? (6 year history) Had a GSXR 600 K1, good fun but it felt like ever other bike on the road was a GSXR 600, no originality at all! Then got a Daytona (T595), again great fun but unreliable and a heavy old lump! Then had a rush of blood to the head and bought a XR400R (first ever off roader) complete insane bike but not for me. I've just bought an immaculate, completely original 2002 R6 with only 3k on the clock and am just getting used to it, it seems a great bike, a bit twitchy and high revs but what do you expect! Any tips, advice (polite comments only guys) I need to know for riding or maintaining it? Barry

Sorry officer, I didn't realize my radar detector wasn't plugged in I thought you had to be in relatively good physical shape to be a police officer I was going to be a policeman, but I decided to finish school instead Aren't you the bloke from the villiage people? Is it true that people become Policemen because they are too dumb to work at McDonalds? Well, when I reached down to pick up my bag of crack, my gun fell off of my lap and got lodged between the handlebars and the thr…

  9. I'm a bit frustrated. Even after reading many of the infomative documents on this site... http://www.ntsb.gov/Events/symp_motorcycle_safety/agenda.htm ...I feel I know more about the dangers of the highway, but not how that compares to city street riding. So what's the deal, where I live I can choose either the highway 4 lanes with a fair amout of 18 wheelers or I can go city streets. I opt for the city streets but know that intersections can be dangerous places. Also, with city street driving you have cars that can pull out right in front of you turning right OR left. So I ask myself, which is really more dangerous???? I can understand that an acci…

I know different bikes are different with fuel consuption and tanks are different sizes, but just whatever anyone wants to write could help all of us. Thanks!

  11. I have developed a tight spot on the chain, and am looking to replace it. The bike is a 2000 R6. Any recommendations as to what to get? Is an "X" ring advantageous over an "O" ring for example? I have not really got a clue what to go for. Thank you in adavance for your help. Neil

Hello All, I just joined the board and wanted to introduce myself, and to get my first post in. I live in Telluride Colorado USA and ride a '07 FJR1300, '97 Suzuki TL1000s and a '74 Norton 850 Commando. Being that Telluride is at 9000' elevation (2800m) we have winter here. In fact there is a ski area here that I work at during the winter so riding season goes from April to November or there abouts. I usually lay down somewhere around 7000 miles per year between the bikes I ride. The nice thing about having more than one is you always have something to ride when the other is in need of repairs or tires. Right now the Suzuki needs a Stator and a tire so I have the …
