hi lads, basically I managed to buy another dtr125 a couple hours ago but this one has a dtre engine and they've used the dtr loom (I think) and have just chopped it up in places, the lad I got it off had it running 3weeks ago but now it wont start, the engine feels spot on (better then my last one if I'm honest) so I don't think its anything to do with that, more to do with this loom, the snorkel being ripped out and some plum screwing a oil pump cover there to try to cover the hole, it has a mikuni carb on it which I don't think my previous one had and it also came with a 30mm oko carb (not sure about that either to be honest my brains a sieve lol als…

Sup guys? I was looking for you're guys input on a bike. First off, I'm a new rider, first bike purchase, 22 years old, 160 lbs. I was looking into buying a Yamaha Virago 750. 14,500 miles. Clean title, Says it has no problems and from pictures so far looks very clean. So I was wondering what's your guys' opinions/reviews of this bike? Good first bike? Good cruiser bike but still enough power to have fun? Any common maintenance? Really looking forward to buying a bike, just wanted to see what y'all think.

I have had problems with this bike. This summer I tooked the old engine out and took it apart to see what the problem was. I end up finding out my valves were junk so it was cheaper for me to buy a used motor than pay to fix the valves on that one. So I swapped out the motor and I put everything back together. Now I am having a problem with it only running on choke and when I try turning it off it just dies off on me. When I start it, it starts right away. When I rev it, it seems to like not want to go so I need to turn the throttle slowly until it goes a little than I can rev it. Once it's somewhat warmed up it starts now come right back down once I rev it. It will stay …

Good or bad bike ????

I have a 1996 Yamaha YZF750r that's in truly good condition. On a cold start the choke needs to be engaged, no problem, the bike warms up and I can close the choke after a minute or so. The bike idles fine. I also noticed that even after I've ridden the bike for an hour, if I leave it sit for 10 minutes, then restart, I need to apply full choke otherwise the bike will stall. Plugs are clean, oil is clean and there's no hesitation (acceleration / deceleration is smooth) while riding. Just curious to know if anyone's experienced something similar and what to check for. Appreciate any suggestions!

Hi All. I was wondering if anyone could help me: I am looking to purchase an SRX 400 (electric start version) for my wife to do her A2 training on. The reason for this is because it is so small and she can manage it relatively easily where the school bikes are all way too large for her. It is 398CC which is fine but it needs to be a minimum of 33BHP to qualify under the new A2 rules for her to do her test on it. Does anyone have any information on the official BHP / KW output of this bike please? I have googled it to death and cant find any solid information. Much appreciated.

hi everyone it has come 2 the time where i have 2 sell my thundercat after a low speed accident. the bike has a few crackes in most of the fairings and around the seat a bent right handelbar no left mirror and the caseing on the right has a split in it there is about ten months mot left but no tax so is sorn mechanical sound but cant afford to fix as ive been of work for 6weeks with bad back im open 2 resonable offers as i can fix it for just under 200 if not i will be breaking it as parts. if intrested pls let me know asap as i will probably break it next weekend if no intrest thanks

Hi Guys, Just purchased a 98 R1. The brake lights are working when the front brakes are applied but not when I am applying the rears. Any ideas and could I repair this fault myself.. Thanks in advance....

Hello everybody hope you're all good So my cooler pipe is leaking and I have seen some posts saying to cut off the pipes and replace them with hoses and jubilee clips and am hoping to go to my brothers place at the weekend and give it a go (he got the mechanical hands and I only got the good looks you see ) But does anyone know where I can get the hoses, oil filter etc anywhere in central London? Also is chopping the pipes the only way to do it or does anyone have an alternative please? I'd really appreciate any pointers in the right direction Cheers Paul

Hi everyone On Sunday was out on my 1998 YZF750R when I noticed the rev counter suddenly flick to 7000rpm then drop to show 0 rpm then a few seconds later ping up to 7000rpm again. The actual engine revs and power remained normal and no other issues apparent. On arriving home let the bike cool down, then turned ignition on. With the engine not running, the rev counter started cycling between 7000rpm and then back to 0 then 7000rpm again etc and repeat. Had a look on a online few threads noting that the "7000rpm" is a Yamaha diagnostic indication that points to a problem with the Exup system. So tank & fairings off and had a look. Hi guys! Having a bit of a "problem" when trying to put my bike into first gear from idle during a cold start. The engine starts usually pretty well (occasionally cuts out during idle on a cold day), but when I get onto the bike and try and put it into first gear....the engine cuts out. I have to repeat this process maybe 1 or 2 more times before it eventually works and I can ride off. I know the Yamaha SR125 has a side stand cut off trigger (caught me out before!) so I could investigate that switch. However because it eventually goes into first gear after a while when the engine is warmer makes me believe its a clutch problem. Thanks guys!
