    hey guys im being offered a 1987 Yamaha FZ 600 Motorcycle with 12k miles for $700 bucks, it has been dropped needs a new battery and a new front break handle, probably some new paint job done to it also. would you say it is worth the money? Thank you, any ideas/help would be great.

    Hi there, just wandered if anyone can help me? I have a 1988 DT125r that has been sat in my garage for 3 years and not run? Now i need to get it going and guess what, it won't go!! I took out the carb and cleaned that thoroughly aswell as cleaning the jets and the float bowl. I then cleaned the air filter out and put carb back in situe. I replaced the throttle cable as it was knackered. I put new gear oil in as a precaution then cleaned the fuel tank out and replaced it with clean petrol and oil. I then cleaned the fuel filter and replaced the entire fuel line aswell. I put a brand knew start button on it but for some reason it wont go!? There is a spark when i ki…

    Just aqquired this bike XJ900F off ebay havent collected it yet but is the seat height as low as an FJ1200? as i like most can flat foot the FJ? is it okay to fit the lower faing kit to this bike, or is it possible it will run to hot? if its okay who sells stufff like that? Thanks

    I’ve just picked up my Yamaha DT50MX bought in 1988, used for a year, and then stored at my parents for the last 31 years with a view to getting it up and running again! All told it’s in pretty good nick. It’s not been started for 5+ years, needs a little TLC and some attention to get it looking great again! One thing that has dawned on me is given it’s a 2 stroke, what needs to be done to convert it to run on unleaded? Any advice or pointers to assistance would be much appreciated. I’ve tried googling the answer but cannot find much. Many thanks in advance.

  7. I have a 1988 Yamaha xv400. Recently dropped a bottom end bearing. I've looked into rebuilding but I want to know if I can swap the motor for a xv535 or xv750 of the same era without any major structural changes. Or if anyone in New Zealand know where i can source a second hand motor. Cheers Curt

    a work friend of mine has a full fairing yam fz1989 with less than 8k dry miles, seen pictures of it and its totaly original and has been dry stored since 1995 covered in a sheet in a lockup on a farm. now the person who runs the farm has sold up he has no space for the bike so its been offered to me for £1k... does anyone know anything about these bikes? are they good? £1k a good investment? he has told me it needs a new battery and a good service. been sorn since 1995 i cant even belive he kept it for so long and the condidtion is immaculate. any advice welocme cheers ken

    Heya folks! I've been looking around for a 1989 DTR wiring loom and I'm starting to think I'm more likely to get shat on by a rocking horse... Managed to find a bike shop locally that could get one in for me at £100 but I'm thinking that sounds rather over-priced? Frasers of Gloucester by the way! They are a little renowned for being overpriced!! As I mentioned before in another post I have an entire loom exluding the L/H switch gear waiting for me, it's £25 but I believe it could be an 1996+ would this be a huge fail if I tried to connect it? I know the bike will pass its MOT without any of the lights as mechanically it's solid.. but to be honest I rea…

    has anyone else have an xj900 pre diversion, which experiences a flat spot between 3000 and 4000 revs? the carbs are balanced, and the the only way to alleviate the symptons are to turn the mixture screws out to 31/2 turns instead of 21/2 . can anybody help

    Hi, Let me introduce myself - My name is Hasan and I'm from the East End of London. I've got two RXS100 (the '88 one is my spares bucket and the '90 is the daily runner) but I seem to be having slightly problems with power... Now I know these machines are not built for speed, but Ive read of people doing at least 75 whilst mine struggles at 65-68 (even with my head down)... Ive pulled the whole exhaust off, cleaned the baffle and ran some injector cleaner to help with the jets, but I still can't get power I want from her. Also, the power band doesnt kick in until 5000 revs, is that normal? Can you think of anything for me to check which might help? …

    Hi All Had my Xj since october and every time it rains the front brakes are crap, takes a good 5 to 8 seconds of pulling hard on the lever to clear the water off then and I now have to virtually ride with them on to keep em working when it rains, looked at the front wheel whilst going along the other day when it was raining and the water was being channelled onto the brake caliper by the mudguard, is this normal, if so is there anything i can do to solve it, get the fright of my life every time i try to use them (quite often on the A2 in rush hour) Rob

    Hello all. Can someone assist with some info. I have just bought a low mileage (21000) 1992 on a K 600s. Its a very good runner, and even the standard clutch rattle appears to be absent?? Anywho, my question is the oil light on the dash doesnt come on when the ignition is turned on. From memory, it may only be a oil level light but just need to confirm. Needless to say I rode it home tonight, over 20 miles, and its still running. Your help will be appreciated.

    hi all, just joined hoping some of u can give me some good advise on getting my bike running, the last time it was used was 6 years ago, so to cut a long story short iv cleaned the carb put fresh petrol in ,new plug and got it started, (this is easy i thought) wrong took it out and wen the powerband was jjust about to come in it died as if i had hit the kill switch and would not start again, the plug was wet seemed oily so cleaned it and started it again 10 mins later, and the same happened, carb off again and sett float to 21mm and now i can only get it to start with easy start, it runs for 20 seconds and dies, plug out and is wet and oily. iv been messing about with it …
