Hi, been looking for a renthal kit to replace my current standard set up, (looks like a push bike chain next to my mates wr250), but can't seem to find a renthal kit for the Dt, are there other models that will fit? I think its a 428 chain, but still unsure. If not a renthal are there other quality chain kits out there? Any help much appreciated Toby

Pfft! Bit o watter ne'er 'urt anyone! Whack a set off knobblies on and take her offroad, best fun I've had in the rain, its the winter that sucks, grit on roads, cold hands and no traction!

Had top end in bits, replaced all gaskets and cleaned all deposits. No loss of coolant now! thanks for all help and advice, very much appreciated!

Have ordered new head gasket and water pump gasket from Athena, will inspect and replace this weekend. Thanks for the help, will update once I've had her in bits

There are 2 pipes from expansion, one which leads to main rad, the other looks like it runs through the frame, and outlets near gear leaver, this is where its leaking, no other leaks that I can see. Seems my expansion is sucking coolant in and letting it out through this overflow outlet. The first time I flushed the system it did look milky, but its ok now.

Will this solve the problem? Have I been doing any damage to my engine? Where would you recommend buying one, eBay? Cheers for help

Hi, cheers for reading, I have had an ongoing problem with my Dt, I fill the radiator every morning and check expansion, always plenty in the expansion tank, but after riding for 25mins I allow it to cool and check coolant levels, there's always some in the expansion but the radiator looks empty! I have flushed the system and checked for leaks, but it looks like the overflow is just pushing all my coolant out! There are a few splatters of coolant under overflow outlet, is there anyway of solving this? I have run out of ideas now. Any help is appreciated, Cheers Toby

I had this problem with my dt, kept scratching rear panels and they hold the dirt very well! I used a product called Xerapol, bought from eBay, very good stuff, just sand down scratches, apply solution and buff away! Genius, can be used on visors and clear plastics too.... Hope this helped bud

Hello, thanks for reading. I noticed some play in the rear of my bike last week, only up and down, no sideways play. I have been told I need new swingarm bearings, but I can't find these anywhere! Can I buy the same sized bearings or are they specific? Also are there any other parts that need to be replaced due to the play? Cheers in advance for any help Toby

Had the carb in bits yesterday and gave it all a blast with carb cleaner, no noticeable deposits were removed, but after putting her back together she was sweet as a nut! Many thanks for the help

Bike was used throughout winter, was stood a few days tho. will check carb again and give it a good clean, cheers for the help, will update when I've had a play.

Hi, I took my bike out for a long ride to Kilburn on the weekend, everything was running fine. On the return journey it started to loose power at low revs and I would have to keep pumping the throttle to keep her alive! I made it home and stopped off at the shop, when I came to start the bike it wouldn't kick over unless on choke, the engine was easily warm enough. Eventually after kicking it up for about 10mins it started but I needed to keep pumping throttle as before. I checked the spark plug and a bit of smoke came from the hole in the top of engine. Plug was black, changed it, made no difference, checked air filter and carb, both ok. I've now run out of ideas as im not too knowledgeable about bikes. Any help is appreciated, Thanks Toby

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew where i could find an alternative rear fender? I have the 1997 model and the rear fender swoops down, i wanted more of an enduro look for the bike, a slightly upswept fender like the Yz. Any ideas where i can find one cheers.
