I bought the MZ because all my mates were riding Fizzies and AP50's and I wanted a proper (sic) bike? I did actually learn to ride on an AP50 but decided to go for the MZ because a new one was cheaper than a second hand Fizzie etc. I paid £278.00 otr. You get what you paid for - shit brakes, Pneumant no grip tyres and an agricultural engine and you had to mix the petrol and oil. A 65mph top speed if you were lucky and my mates on their Fizzies and AP50's would blow it away! BUT This bike gave me freedom. I could go where I liked when I liked. I rode it at every opportunity in all weathers. I was devastated when a myopic car driver pulled out of a side road and killed it! (The insurance payout got me a RD200 DX tho).

Hi peeps. What bikes did you all start out on? Any embarrassing ones? To start the ball rolling my first bike was a pinnacle of Germanic engineering. I t was A 1978 MZ TS150

No its not a Scotland / England debate. I just did it as north and then split the rest northeast and northwest ie up to Hadrians Wall - which incidentally wasn't built high enough I've just realised I've not included Wales either. Or Yorkshire

Yeah I suppose there is a bit of a risk buying off ebay - but I got my Exup of ebay and it was as described. BUT! All the panels etc match and ARE original and it's 14 years old. With a two year old bike like Redbeards looking at - then you would expect the panels etc to be right.

Hi Redbeard Had a quick peek at bike. There's definitely something amiss! I can't believe that the dealer or the owner wouldn't have noticed the difference in the decals if bike was fresh out of crate. Besides in the mileage the bikes done somebody should have spotted it! Maybe the owner only gets on from the right hand side?
