  1. do a compression test chris, the motor could be worn out fella, if you're lucky just new rings will sort it but start with a comp test

  3. If the gearbox is full of fuel, is there any chance the carb float valve is passing and fuel enters the crankcase constantly , given that the petrol tap is passing or switched on? Also check the fuel overflow tubing is not raised up higher than the spigot it attaches to, or crimped/blocked

    you dont need to buy plates if your plates are within spec...use a vernier and check they are out of spec first before you buy
  5. is the clutch slipping? check the oil level and that you used proper bike specific oil, as in not car oil

    shouldnt there be a seal retainer plate keeping that RH seal where it should be?, there is on DT's

  13. Great intro Andy, not much left out there fella wow the Fiat is a stunner, I can see the DTMX is going to be very smart too now yeah the regulator is mounted on a plastic battery box? so a short black wire with a ring terminal around the mounting screw is the way forward
  14. could it be a slipping clutch, what oil did you use?
  15. is your gear lever hitting an engine casing therefore needing to be moved on the splined shaft?

  20. give the cable some slack, use the adjuster at the lever
  21. you assembled it wrong steve, was there some rubber damper rings between the plain plates? my guess is that you put two of these in next to each other instead of either side of a plain plate...just a guess though but you'll have to strip it down again BTW did you put all the plain plates in as you should...theres a right way to do it...know what i'm talking about?
