  2. dont buy that mikuni carb you linked to, it's not right for the bike...you would have to premix with that one there's no oil feed spigot to the carb. surely you can have your original sonic cleaned for a small price?

  4. if you're ehaust valves havent enough clearance I suspect you are in danger of burning the one in question out?
  5. have a look at the plate behind your fuel tap, you may see it has OFF / RUN / RES positions ??? Set to OFF every time the bike is not in use The tank holds 11 litres including reserve Set to RUN when you have enough fuel in the tank If the engine starts to splutter / die, set to RES you have 3.4 litres left so get her filled up

  7. heat can find weaknesses in ignition stator coils, they can open cct when they become hot and re-connect when they cool down. !st thing to check is if it's still sparking when the engine cuts out
  8. my bandit has carbs and a fuel gauge fil
  9. I dont know about the fuel gauge but you should have a 'Reserve' position on the fuel tap...whatever you do ...dont ride around day to day with the tap set to reserve, it's there to give you chance to get filled up with fuel.

  14. it's pushed into the brake lever perch isnt it, just prise it out of there and fit the new one....dont see why this has anything to do with the throttle assembly but then again you can see it and I can't

  17. If it's using the water then perhaps it needs a new head gasket and the head will need to be checked for warpage

  20. Phew, good call bakes. Get that test passed fella, you'll enjoy a 650cc far more without a doubt
  21. the easiest way to test the rings is a compression test in the first instance, if compression is down you would strip down the top end and examine the wear of the rings/bore/piston etc
  22. Its a 2 stroke, if it were a 4 stroke that might be the case
