  1. Hi Ian, Yes Its stuck due to lack of use, I recommend you start it up and let it run, Get the motor really nice and hot, This will thin the oil down, When its hot keep pulling in the clutch lever and blipping the throttle, Crossed fingers this mught free it If this doesnt work re try the rocking back and forth in 4th gear with lever pulled in, but this time with hot engine. If its anywhere near due an oil change it would be wise to do it sooner rather than later if its been stood,
  2. Nice to see Justice done oldtimer Now stick your chest out and snatch i off em!

  5. A few years ago i bought a new Honda NX650 dominator, similar to your XT, Loved the look and ride position, but didnt like the ride, too long legged, crap commuter, slipping clutch all the time in traffic etc, Then gota Bandit 600 and absolutely love it, It does everything well, Fast, slow whatever you want and it looks good too so...When you get this your single pot days may be over, so Smooooth! No idea whats going to fall of it, But reckon you'll love it like I do mine
  6. Well the answer is yes really, it means your not using your air filter which isnt a good ida really, having said that, it might not be that...But you really should be using your air filter, Ive seen those carb to airbox connectors on ebay, i'll look out for one and give you a shout
  7. I agree, Sounds like dodgy ignition switch to me too not pre ignition (because the kill switch works)
  8. Hi Lee and welcome to the forum. Youve just bought it so you dont know the history Strip down the carb and thoroughly clean all jets Check and set the float height De coke, especially around the exhaust port Check the air filter, does it need cleaning and re oiling? (Thats if its still the original foam type)
  9. I think youll find T Cut is the perfect tool for the job. Use a damp cloth and rub GENTLY in small circles over the affected area, Polish off at regular intervals with a dry duster to check if clear, When happy apply a bit of polish to paintwork, furniture polish would be fine. Next time you use luggage, protect your paintwork with some of that grippy mesh stuff, I got some from the local pound shop, only £1 a roll, Great for under tank bag or tail fairing
  10. Sounds like a spacer missing to me

  14. Hi, You dont want anything too thick, Or it will clunk like mad when you put it in gear, especially when cold. 20w 40 should be ok.
  15. Try running with fuel tap in prime, , If it starts after you leave it for a while and then konks out, This can be an indication of blocked fuel filter and you will need to check for good fuel flow from tap
  16. Sunrise graphics, always worth a try, or of course...Yamaha dealer...Fowlers possibly
  17. Welcome back from your adventure Darren, Major test of mind, body and machine...Well done
  18. I think you should get it in writing about displaying on your dashboard (Instrument cluster), and ask for several copies so youre not stuck when they are inevitably stolen

  21. A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog For Sale." He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador retriever sitting there. "You talk?" he asks. "Yes, I do," the Lab replies. "So, what's your story?" The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired." The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog. "Ten dollars," the guy says. "Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?" "Because he's a liar. He never did any of that stuff."
  22. My DT175MX is 1979 and that has an autolube pump, You need to find out where yours is or confirm that it has been removed, Much better than mixing in the tank
