  1. Try a new plug, points and condenser, if they dont work move on to the carb and fuel supply. After that your looking at checking your engine seals.

Hi Jim from Manchester, welcome to the YOC forum How about a DT175MX, popular bike in its day so new and used spares still available and still sought after now. Downside is due to lots of intrerest spares can be expensive. ...paul

Hi has the bike got TPS (throttle position sensors) I seem to remember that this type of symptom can be caused by those going down, try doing a search.
  4. Hello Bill and welcome to the YOC forum. Check your oil with the bike upright and level, with mine the check is without screwing the cap in, dont know about yours but I would do the same unless you find out otherwise. ...Paul
  5. Bad luck that Mikey, but you must have known the key was cracked and carried on using it!! Dont know how you will get out of this one but if it were me I would be trying to remove the broken piece, BUT...have you got a spare key or at least the key number?

Nice one Goff, coulnt think of a better way to stick up two fingers to the limo lot, although I do agree this should really be a leaving secondary school thing. i remember when we left secondary school it was try to talk in a deep voice and see if you could get served in the pubs in town...that was it...nothing else. So whos on the trike then?
  12. Thats what my missus keeps saying
  13. I need to see the other side. The Dt175E has a pumped 2 stroke oil system, therfore the carb needs to have a connection for the oil line, it would normally be on the other side like this UK version.

  15. You put on a clean dry cloth, rub it in your chrome, then polish up - simply should not have to do it for two or three months where one or the other while it protects your chrome removes manure and just - politics just after washing. easy Hmm ...Removes manure and politics, so its good at removing sh1t then

Hello Jim, try Fowlers of Bristol
  18. Might be an idea to change the fork oil, you will have to find out (get a manual) how to do it, what viscosity and how much to use, this doesn't need doing very often but its an old bike and you don't know when it was last done. brake fluid should also be changed just as it does in a car from time to time. You should use your clutch all the time for gear changing...Tip...when down shifting (only) give the throttle a little blip as you pull the clutch and simultaneously change gear, you will find it is much smoother that way.
  19. Get a girlfriend who doesnt smoke.
  20. Ive just spoken to the guy on the phone 01253 711 862 he;s having trouble with his web sit but is very much still in business. I got my graphics from there. His email is [email protected]
  21. You should get those brakes checked Semi synthetic oil is your best bet, full synthetic can sometimes cause clutch slip
  22. You keep on spending mate, apparently the recession will be over sooner that way
  23. I found a wiring diagram and would think that the high low beam switch is open circuit or has lost its supply, if it doesnt work high or low then look to see if its got a supply (Blue) see Here
  24. Try your nearest Yamaha agent, dont assume its not available. Dont you have any 'Classic' bike spares suppliers in Thailand? you could even try an engineering bearings supplier they will sell oil seals as well.
