  1. Opening up a jet with a paper clip was not a good idea. You should experiment with jets of different sizes. They are not expensive. I would suggest a 220 or a 230.   7. Greetings and welcome Sarah Cold be a connection for a vacuum line, if so the line will come from an inlet manifold, It shouldnt be dripping though but the tap may need repair / overhaul.
  8. welcome mick, nice bike would like to see a pic, the only thing wrong with that model is the fuel tap, the bike shuts down completely shortly after a warning lamp comes on.

  10. Get yourself a carb balancer gauge set, sometimes called synchronising or sync...ing, bad vibes can occur if the carbs are not in 'harmony' with each other
  11. internal micrometers are hard come by whereas external ones are commonplace. You could either use the piston plus feeler gauge to fill the bore then measure these to find the bore size...or use spring loaded and lockable bore gauges which again are checked using an external micrometer.

    Having no filter will affect carburation, I think you should fit one or it will run lean, in the mean time try richening by screwing in the mixture screw, try 1/2 a turn out from closed for example but get an air filter fitted.

  18. Sorry i'm not familiar with the specific bike, Has something come loose, check exhaust connections, is the exhaust corroded and blowing anywhere ? is it a points ignition system, maybe new point and capacitor (condenser) are needed, also check ignition timing.

  23. 'YEIS' is Yamaha Energy Induction System A development yamaha made many years ago, some people dont think it does any good, but i think Yamaha probably know best. Also sometimes known as a 'Boost bottle'
  24. You sure it isnt YEIS ? a black box with nothing in it fits the bill here.
