DTR 2001 Eating Gear Oil ?
Ehh? its the right one Ray if its the crank seal your bike will smoke badly and not perform too well either. It might be worth checking for leals wile youre at it and before diving in to the seal. also take off the radiator cap to see it it's gettin g into the coolant.

De Restricting my DT125R
Snorkeling but nor gwttig wet!!! A lot of people feel it's the thing to do to remove the airbox inlet snorkel in the hope that somehow this will allow more air in to the airbox, the downside to this is increased induction nose and an unlikely risk that should water somehow find its way under the seat, then it will enter the airbox and possibly the engine. I tried this myself for a while but wasnt really happy with the arrangement. I learned that the snorkel from a DT230 lanza had a different snorkel with a larger inlet (No shit sherlock ) So I promptly ordered one and fitted it today happy with the peace of mind that it cannot possibly restrict airflow...its big! and also happy that should a sunami hit the A57 my bike wont drown Its quieter too.

carb help
To quickly test the right crank seal put the transmission breather pipe into a jar containing white spirit, turps, kerosene etc. Start the engine and increase the revs , watch for bubbles or any difference to the level in the jar. Why do you think its running rich? what evidence is there for this? ...Paul

TZR 50 WONT START
The woodruff key that was shredded ...particles of this will be stuck all over the strong magnets in the magneto. You should have bought a proper one and are asking for trouble by making your own, chances are damage has been done already. The magneto locks tight on a taper, if your home made key it a little too tall this taper lock will be lost and trouble will follow.

DT 125 MX Piston
Like you said he was not listening, the DT125R induction is direct into the crankcase unlike your DTMX, get it swapped

DT 125 (2003) derestrict
The reed switch is NOT a rev limiter it is a speed limiter, therefore at speeds less than apprximately 65mph you should be able to rev freely above 7500 rpm. What is the number on the exhaust? it may have a reducer in the neck of the downpipe. I would'nt waste my money on a DEP unless yours is manky and letting the bikes looks down. as 2wheels said see my thread for pictures of the exhaust restrictor but bear in mind it may be restricted in a different way hence why I asked for the number.

Happy birthday, Bark !!
Happy birthday Jim, was it yesterday?

LC350 will not start
Maybe the rings are a little worn and the bores are a little dry. Try a squirt of two stroke oil directly into each spark plug hole..it just might give better suction through the carb ...Paul

Well done Alex for fixing the forum,

xvs 125 you can get a bit more poke
Leave the cover off and take a ride down to your local tyre fitting bay, hand them your socket and they will spin it off no problem with those pneumatic gadgets...a tactic I have used myself in the past. Then just nip it up for the ride back home. ...Paul
