  1. Could be too advanced ignition Could be to timid a kick to start or both these conditions By the way, 2 strokes will generally run backwards if you bump started them backwards
  2. no dont seeee link doesnt work
  3. Did you test the fuel tap operation? it seems strange the plugs always seemed so dry.
  4. Bike has to upright, not on the stand to check level of oil. Going back to the apparent lack of fuel earlier, is the fuel valve a vacuum type and if so did you have it switched to the 'PRIME' position?

sounds like you got water somewhere it shouldnt be, tell me this washing...it didnt involve any forced jets of water did it? Try spraying the HT lead , inside the plug cap, and the ignition coil, relevant to the particular cylinder that wont run (cold exhaust one)
  7. L plates no problem CT, Drewpy Vez and up-yours on Saturday, they are not using motorways.

It's flooded, take the plug out and leave it out at least overnight, then try again, if it starts switch off the fuel until the engine stops...then you're good to go

  11. Camping is free on the understanding thet meals are bought from the cafe / bar, there will be no problem getting a space, theres lots of 'space' there. I dont mind phoning but it wont matter really I think. Whose going Friday? 2wheels...barking...is blackhat?
  12. First thought are...The water you mention, give the coil and HT lead a spray with WD40, remive the ignition side cover and check its dry in there, a spray of WD40 in there too wond do any harm. Next time it stops, open the fuel tank filler lid, does it suck in air...can you start it now? Could be a blocked tank vent.

  15. welcome yammylover, feel free to introduce yourself properly in 'The Bar' It only works from the engine on mine and then you get this sort of orange glow thing going on Sounds like you need a new battery but just confirm the short thing by unplugging the red wire from it after charging. Then see if it still drains.

4FU cylinders are nikasil plated unlike the DTR's which are just bored out steel liners. Also TDR's are rarer so spares will be harder to find. Keep an eye ou on ebay in case some goodies come along.

I posted about 'the car' in response to Mervs @fuel goes stale overnight' comment...it seems not, and I agree that the root cause of trouble will be the carbs..either gumming...although I doubt it after only 3 months, or evaporation...more likely IMO. Each year I lay my Bandit off for the winter and each year in the spring it will idle and not rev. So I just switch the fuel to prime and let it idle until hot with gentle coaxing of the throttle a few blips here and ther along the way. This approach has never let me down and nothin's more certain than next spring she will idle and not rev
