Good tip mike, I would run the bike upto temperature on the stand also. Temperature normally helps to release 'frozen' clutches

The rectifier has a male and female connector so it couldnt easily be wired wrong.

Check the bulbs front and rear are working and that they are the same wattages as the ones in the right side, Alternatively swap all the bulbs right to left / left to right...see if the problem migrates too

Hope the weather is kind for you Georgie, and here is a factor to predict...Petrol station availability? lots of in town stations will close so plan your distances carefully or you'll be sleeping on the grass verge when you go onto reserve like I did all those years ago with a trip from Glossop to Cornwall.
