  2. Great intro Adil Greetings and i'm moving this to 'New Members' Raise another in 'Classics' about your bike Q's
  3. When you turn on the key, the pv shold do the self clean as has been said, then it should stop and leave the slot in the pulley aligned with the 4mm blind hole in the cyl head. at this point the pv is fully open and the top of the exhaust port should be smooth all the way into the cyl bore...see my 'de restricting' sticky for pictures
  4. is the pv working properly and properly set up maty?
  5. perhaps the piston shattered because the crank was loose in the bearing, its a NO from me...and a new crank is a YES
  6. see how it is after the rebuild dave and try a few plug, dont know why you mention flooding
  7. mervin will know
  8. nah but it could have been wet with fuel you put through the plug hole. what i meant was...without putting fuel in manually, does the plug get wet with fuel by the way you should buy several spark plugs and try them all, sometimes they can be a bit finicky
  9. the choke..well does the plug get wet with fuel?
  10. yeah you should have stopped when you noticed this, sounds like a bearing seized and the crank spun inside it...is this what you found...a trashed bearing?
  11. Greetings DkD to the forum

  14. no pal its not normal, sounds like it needs new crank bearings and seals if there is up/down play at the flywheel
  15. Excellent intro michael, how about a pic of the DTMX?
  16. havent you heard...theres a hose pipe ban !!!
  17. throw up a pic of the bike, the ability to post pictures is always a bonus...see FAQ's in 'New member' forum
  18. you're welcome brendon
  19. always a tricky one this i find david, its late now but tomorrows another day mate
  20. so if it works repeatedly with the jumper and not without it...this means the current flow from the battery... through the fuse and any connectors along the way...through the ignition switch to the flash relay has met some resistance due to dirty or corroded contacts! you need to check all connectors and fuse connection are clean, if you cannot get it to work after doing this then it maybe the contacts in the ignition switch that are dirty...this is an area i am unfamiliar with, i dont know if they can be inspected and cleaned or whether a new ignition switch would be necessary, that one is for you to decide but do the stuff you can do...its late now in uk so i'll check up on you again tomorrow
  21. Greetings david and thanks for the intro fella
  22. sounds good but!! brendon you need to be totally descriptive in your replys...i cannot see what youre doing! jumper...no jumper...dash light ...no dash light...what?
  23. try again, I am encouraged by "it seemed to work" make sure you have a good connection to each end and strong cable...press them down good at each end is the speedo dash light still in cct?
  24. ok so thats a step in the right direction then now try this, use a piece of wire as a jumper, touch one end to battery+ and the other end to Brown on the relay connector, see if the indicators work...dont think you will need to turn the key ON
