DT175E sudden stoppage
nahh nothing to do with the rebore consider increasing the pilot jet on a warm idle...screw in the mixture screw slowly until it seats...if the motor doesnt begin to stumble ( too rich), then fit a bigger pilot jet because it should have done you fitted a new 140 main jet....was that in when the seizure happened?...what's standard in the DT175E? dont forget to raise the needle...if its bogged down with it raised put it back, if it's not bogged down leave it there it was too weak anyway in midrange Filter? a new one fitted...alll standard and oiled?

tzr 125 r belgarda swing arm
It's a classic sought after bike and deserves the time and money it takes to make it nice and keep it's originality, I'm not saying dont buy the different one as a temporary measure while the original is sorted though
-
tzr 125 r belgarda swing arm
I agree if it's only surface rust take it to a reputable place for re-coating...one that specialises in bike parts would be best IMO

Seems I got a bit ahead of myself!
Greetings Dan a nice bike you have found yourself there yep I recently had the same incident with a car coming from the opposite direction and doing a right turn in front of me...luckily i was able to stop as only going slow!

DT175E sudden stoppage
in the short term try lifting the needle by one position and turn inwards the mixture screw by 1/2 turn, if it doesnt bog leave it there for now and make a note of the current pilot and main jet sizes, i assume the float height was checked prior to fitting?

Headlamp wont work
and how were we to know that? I find its usually best to start at the bottom...it's a new bike to you (thats why I asked), now if you had said..."suddenly my light dont work"....might have been a different answer
-
DT175E sudden stoppage
its happened to me Richard...it's a heat seize, too much heat...piston expands in the bore until theres nowhere to expand into! Carburation too lean......... fit bigger jets all round...pilot and main, in the first instance, try lifting the needle one slot if it doesnt make it bog all in all, more carb fiddling Another less likely cause is ignition firing too far advanced, ideally you set it using a DTI for 2 mm BTDC

inlet manifold
Dohh yes that all seemed a bit rough arsed to me so i did mine in a more sypathetic way, like some YZ's were. see post #64 here

yamaha tzr50 problems
could be just heat seizing with the 'new' piston, really 30 miles and you're revving to 8k plus, is that recommended practice for this bike?

Headlamp wont work
dont rush into pulling things apart, it maybe that you just dont know how to switch them on! The fact the flash works may indicate bulb and earths are all ok Perhaps the ignition key has to be in another posision to arm the lights...who knows...study the bike / owner book etc
