  1. Point is though, It's easier to select neutral from 2nd with the bike in motion
  2. I needs a bit of a ride before you can state that smoking is an issue, you've only just built it after all! I assume that you checked and re-fitted any seals on the valves when you fitted them
  3. It should get better with a bit of use Grouch, check you havent put too much in though. Perhaps you will get netral better while you are coming to a stop but not yet stopped it's always easier like that IMO theres never any value at all in going to 1st before stopping either on 2 wheels or 4. It's also possible because you use your bike a lot that you have by now a little clutch plate wear and so adjusting the clutch at the clutch may help
  4. yeah, the HT cap next, then the coil
  5. Greetings essexdave and ahh the 70's happy days

  7. Its a single pot for a start!...
  8. Theres not much wrong with the original ones if they are doing their job, you should be able the blow air through the unit but attempting to suck air through should cause them to seal shut
  9. Greetings marky why did you delete your post about YZ80 model code??? Best get it done again eh?
  10. cant you soak the carb in something to free off the stuck plunger? this would of course be the best result. If it were me I'd be warming the carb in the oven and spraying with PB Blaster or whatevers best Stateside

    The Stork

The teacher was telling the kids about the birds and the bees and she explained that when a man and a woman meet and fall in love, nine months later the stork usually brings them a little baby from its nest. Little Gemma at the back of the class put her hand up and asks the teacher, are you sure about the stork, miss? I think you're getting your birds mixed up 'cos my big sister just got a little baby and she said it was from a shag at the beach..!!!

  18. About 105 - 115psi
  19. Greetings Michael, the links dont work for me anyway,
  20. see FAQ's in 'New Members' for posting pics danny
  21. so am I reading this right? the starter is fixed to a casing that you remove to get to the clutch etc? there is a gear on the end of the starter shaft...right? Fit the casing back with the starter loose in that casing and as you offer the casing up on re-fit just waggle the starter motor so the gear doesnt jam up anywhere, it should all go back without any resistance...then re-tighten the starter
  22. If the cyinder is going up and down, that could be part of the problem...perhaps It is colliding with the petrol tank?
  23. The 170 kit comes with a cylinder head...It's a fairly common upgrade so you should expect they have got it right? Are you not concered about the insurance implications of this?
  24. If you are involved in an accident with another vehicle though and it's not your fault...then you will be paid from the other party's insurance for any injuries you have suffered...That's right isnt it?
  25. Blue printing is checking the transfer ports match up exactly to the engine cases with no steps, and that all the ports are covered/uncovered by the piston at exactly the same time. Theres no such thing as boring a cylinder head...Just skimming them for the optimum squish clearance so I'd guess thats what will be done there...This does increase compression ratio though which may not be a good thing on this bike?
