Ybr 125
It's a satnav not a bloody toaster! I never heard so much nonsense, fit the satnav you wont have any problem. i run a satnav on an old DT175 with 6v electrics without any problem at all. People even run heated grips on them, now that may arguably be not recommended but ya pays yer money and takes ya chance with that one!

maybe you can check with a multimeter to see if any of the socket terminals come up 'live' with the negative lead on the negative battery terminal? I assume it's an lcd display thats totally blank

1978 DT 125 Did the factory wire it this way?
I got my info from a DT125E parts catalog, though for some strange reason the service data pertaiined to DT100? ...misprint? I dont have any info on voltage, neither do I have a bike with points, my source coil generates around 130v to a CDI unit and measures hundreds of ohms...lots more turns than yours of couse you see a varying resistance as the points open and close...think about it! closed you are measuring a dead short through the points...open you are measuring coil resistance I dont recall you saying that you tested the HT coil and that is within specification ?

1978 DT 125 Did the factory wire it this way?
I out of ideas if you still dont have a spark! the figure I saw for the source coil was 1.7 ohms It seems to me that you meter reads 0.6 ohms when you touch the probes together, same as when the points are closed. so if this is the case 2.7 - 0.6 = 2.1 ..slightly over the 1.7 +- 10% but not much

Suzuki dr600 carb playing up?
Check the filter screens, theres no doubt one on the petcock (may be inside the tank)...There may also be one in the carb (may be in the float needle valve) It may also be as blackhat said, thats an easy find...just spray WD40 around the intake when it's idling too fast...see if there's a change

of course the pistons are skimmed to size using a lathe, the marks you see are just carbon deposits in the grooves left by the machining process
