  1. it could simply be that your battery has died of old age, not beyond the realms of possibility given the age of the bike
  2. have a look at you battery terminals to see if they are nice and clean and tight
  3. try using the starter with a: stand down b: stand up notice anything?
  4. it all depends on the strength of the spring loaded pin, some are so strong they will support the weight of the float without compressing the spring...however, most arent. Incline the carb so that the tang just touches the pin, not "off the pin"...there will be no gap, it's touching the pin
  5. beats me slice, i dunno WTF you're on about mate Perhaps you're having troble making the mental switch of having the carb inverted...if the distance from the flange to the bottom of the float is greater than spec...then there will be too little fuel in the bowl...honest
  6. That's it+1 Dont see how it explains a fuel leak though, it will mean not enough fuel in the bowl...not too much fuel!
  7. he was on an XT660X supermoto john, we did lots of trails en route to Stanage, Dan went straight there by road
  8. Had a great day Dan...Hugh's a great fella and looked after us well. He even threw in some education around Eyam about the significance of the place re- the 'Black Death' and the fate of a local highwayman which was interesting. Only got pictures of the final destination the 'Pole' on Stanage Edge. The Pole is an ancient waymarker, the only surviving one. It marks the route of the path so that when the snows come the drovers can still find their way Sadly the route will not be able to be accessed using motorcycles as of next Wednesday.
  9. yeah it can, find out the required readings and what wire colours they relate to, if theres a black wire one of your meter probes goes to that one
