DT125R help
You should stop riding it straight away, sounds like something has come adrift, I suggest you check the generator flywheel hasnt come loose

1978 DT175 PLEASE HELP!!
The pilot jet is item 2 Here You need to unscrew it from the carb body and confirm it isnt blocked, This jet is the one used to start the engine, as well as part throttle opening, If you hold it up to the light you should see a hole through it (not blocked), use a magnifying glass if necessary

Thundercat Downpipes
Go to dealer with your exact model and engine number, I personally dont like using bolts because studs are fixed and the bit that takes the wear and tear is away from the internal thread in the cylinder head, much better that way IMO

1978 DT175 PLEASE HELP!!
Can be difficult to get to the bottom of these problems, But to make a start..have you ridden through much rain or puddles etc, seems rather sudden. I think you should remove the generator cover because thats where the CDI coils live, see if its wet inside the case and spray throgh the flywheel slots with WD40 then try again

Thundercat Downpipes
On first looking it should have studs, Its a newish bike so you would be able to buy them from Yamaha agent, or if you know the length maybe from engineers suppliers or look in motorcycle mechanics magazine see Here

Thundercat Downpipes
Can you fit studs instead of bolts, Loctite them on the head side and use nuts and spring washers on the pipe clamp.

What could cause backfireing
I think iys more likely an ignition fault, Get yourself a strobe light and do an ignition check, Have you got a Haynes manual? I think it might be useful

XVS 650 Dragstar clutch won't disengage
Hi Ian, Yes Its stuck due to lack of use, I recommend you start it up and let it run, Get the motor really nice and hot, This will thin the oil down, When its hot keep pulling in the clutch lever and blipping the throttle, Crossed fingers this mught free it If this doesnt work re try the rocking back and forth in 4th gear with lever pulled in, but this time with hot engine. If its anywhere near due an oil change it would be wise to do it sooner rather than later if its been stood,

Got myself a FZR6
A few years ago i bought a new Honda NX650 dominator, similar to your XT, Loved the look and ride position, but didnt like the ride, too long legged, crap commuter, slipping clutch all the time in traffic etc, Then gota Bandit 600 and absolutely love it, It does everything well, Fast, slow whatever you want and it looks good too so...When you get this your single pot days may be over, so Smooooth! No idea whats going to fall of it, But reckon you'll love it like I do mine
