Cheeky young whippersnapper Welcome to the YOC forum HCR.
  2. you only have to ask each person where and when they bought the ticket, thats how they know where winners are from. its all in the bar code i expect.

Course it would, heres some more I did a few weeks back

    exhaust paint.

is it for the DT? I use Plasti kote barbecue paint from Wilkinsons stores, only a fiver a tin and is as good as any purpose made exhaust paint, its the same satin finish as the original stuff too; you do have to be meticulous in rust removal to get good results and you should also re-do as necessary. Don't expect it to last if you use your bike in the wet or rain...none of them do, even the paint straight out of the factory has a short life in the wet. Look after that exhaust its very expensive and hard to replace now! Here's my bike with freshly painted exhaust And heres another I did a few weeks ago ...Paul
  5. You should buy a lottery ticket, Its all going so well!!
  6. Great stuff, well done...
  7. Fine by me too, I wonder when Yamaha dropped that colour, I now associate them with blue for some strange reason, although the Yellow / Black will live on, I'd put money on it that a Ltd edition Yellow and speedblock livery would boost sales
  8. With a name like 'KingKennyWannabee' how about yellow and black speedblocks?...
  9. 6 members are celebrating their birthday today Piston_Ported(47), savior_jack(21), bec(29), Ch4lky(32), Goff(39), attoio(51)
  10. Hi Darren, Before you adjust the mixture screw just check you havent got any leaks between carb to inlet rubber mount and between rubber mount to reed cage. start the bike and warm it up to a steady idle, then while its running spray all around these joints with WD40 and listen for any change in engine noise, a change would indicate a leak, and a leak would mean lean running which can be fatal!!
  11. haha, that takes me back, used to hold down the lever, give a hand full or revs and let the lever go...great fun on the old step thru's
  12. Ooerr, i didnt read the thread properly, full throttle for 3 - 4 miles, I find that when I do that it doesnt go any faster...just makes more noise!!, as you say the mixture screw is out of the equation at WOT ...so it just cruelty to elderly DT's then
  13. OK I'LL START HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
  14. I know too, happy birthday from moi as well .xx
  15. Thats right if full chat is also full throttle, but could be full speed on 1/2 throttle on a flat road with a tailwind...worth considering?
  16. Well its a switch so it will be very few Ohms (around two) in one poition with meter set to 200 ohm range, and very high or infinite ohms in the other position with meter on 20 KOhmm range...at a guess, i've never tried it.
  17. I know the one you mean, it showed it on a red bike (Honda) at the end of the topic!! I'll try to find it later.
  18. Thats right i thought it was. Am still intrugued by the addiotional post though about the clutch, I would check the clutch switch with a multimeter
  19. has it got CV carbs? could be a split in one of the diaphragms?
  20. Hi peter, have you seen this Here I am planning to do mine but dont know if i'll ever get around to it.
  21. Youre right, this expander ring is only supplied with genuine yamaha rings, thats why i would say re-use it, if you cant...then thats that! i dunno what its purpose is but obviously Yamaha thought it was a good idea. so you havent got an "oil scraper" ring, just two rings...thats good, what are you going to do to prevent a recurrance of the last disaster?
  22. How many grooves were in your old piston, there should be only two. Are you referring to the expander ring that sits under the second ring; If so re-use the old one.

    i'm back

wondered where you'd gone, ...welcome back!
  24. Great stuff Daiv, dont forget to pop back now and again, after all, you DONT even have to have a bike really, see you later mate...
  25. I'm surprised its the same with the choke on though, perhaps you are losing your spark when you load the engine, try a new plug, or check the electrode gap at least, best of all use a plug checker to see the spark Here
