  1. If you get one from siriusconinc and its a DT175E one, there will be some difference, ie the main jet will be 140, the american bikes had a different carb for some reason, I cant remember which one I bought now, ask if they have DT175MX...It will have a 130 Jet., do you know the carb specs?
  2. Try siriusconinc thats where I got mine from.
  3. I doubt the soldering iron will be 'man enough' there is too much mass of metal to heat and the solder wont melt....possibly. Use a blowtorch or a hot air gun for much faster results. Are they allen head screws (not read the thread properly) if so normal allen keys will flex and you may have to extend the handle for more leverage, I prefer the 3/8 square drive type that are used with a ratchet from a socket set.
  4. Have you been smoking summat???
  5. Nope...He's funny I'll grant you but he is anti bike and pro gas guzzlers!
  6. I would replace them yes, you can get them wemoto Here but its not an old bike so M&P may do them , of course Yamaha dealer too., You will need to lever the piston back to fit the new shoes, use a tyre lever and some packing to do this, give the piston a wipe round to clean any crud off first.
  7. OK its making sense now, I the caliper should somehow slide on its guide pins it is a 'floating caliper' , its probably a bit siezed up so the pad on the piston side is doing the most work, thats why its worn down more, you need to do whatever it takes to get the caliper sliding on its guides it would be best dismantled and the guides cleaned and coated with copperslip or the like.
  8. How many pistons are in the caliper on that bike, just on one side or both?
  9. Why not do a compression test? This will indicate a burned valve as low compression.
  10. Glad I did, looks fantastic...
  11. Jim 3dtees hasnt been back since 17th April, you might be better PM'ing him for a response
  12. Dont forget the chandalier, and to top the lot...claiming mortgage interest on a mortgage that was paid up long ago Theyre not getting away with it any longer although it must have gone on for years until someone started digging, I'd like to know how we can look at our own individual MP's expenses so we can make some choices about how to vote for them or not.
  13. Its not a bad idea really, does well on the SOC, why not start it as a topic in its own right, see how it goes...Its your idea so you post it in the bar or somewher more appropriate than foamy chromy post
