Hmm don't guess jimbo ! 1: both rings the same thickness then? 2: Get a magnifying glass and look at the flat sides of each ring either side of the gap...any markings?

if you don't get an answer mick try measuring the piston with a vernier, be sure to do that at the skirt not the top

stick a charger on the battery, leave it connected and hit the starter button....what now?

those threaded holes in the frame are the seat strap mounting points, some of the later bikes had two bolts for the silencer....completely unnecessary! -

The rear caliper has a fixed half and a floating half (one piston) I think....chances are the floating half has seized on its sliding pins

Yeah I looked at you photo in the other thread and couldnt see any screw, unless the damage sheared it off. Having said that I looked at a 10V model parts book and again I could not see any screw, Something has to hold that lever down or it would just come upwards! I wondered if the little spring was clamped somehow and holding it down? I'm not familiar with LC's McF you looked in an LC manual?
