Airhead replied to drewpy's topic in Events, Rideouts & Trackdays
you doing this one drewpy? -
last year I was too rough for roughleys looking forward to this years now
-
better late than never Wilco Greetings and
-
Greetings Trevor
-
right well like you said thennIt will be fully open with the U of the pulley and the blind hole in alignment...unless of course it is 180 degrees out of position, in which case it will run rough! If it goes like stink it will be right, if it doesn't you better take off the exhaust and make sure the top of the port has a smooth flat surface all the way through the pv to the bore of the cylinder
-
is there a rubber grommet in the hole to keep the road shite out?
-
yes that's right, what shape is the end of the pv though, either diamond or rectangular with two curved sides?
-
does it say anything in the workshop manual about testing the servo?
-
I dunno fella, the pv is operated fro a little servo motor under the tank somewhere, did you say the pv is not stiff to rotate in any way?
-
Greetings Vern
-
coil pack? I smell bullshit
-
I just linked one!...not pinned any longer
-
when you turn on the ignition key the pv should do a couple of cleaning sweeps, you should hear the servo motor noise 'zzzt zzzt' as it does this...then after the cleaning that U shaped cutout should be in perfect alignment with the blind hole you can see at the top. you should investigate whether the pv has become seized in its current position maybe...is the pv servo electrics plugged in? this one isn't pinned any longer
-
is your power valve set in a restricted position, did you ever check it opens fully?
-
upload your pic to a hosting site such as photobucket, then copy the img tag and post it here
-
when I had mine I put a bigger snorkel on it, the best of both worlds,,,able to suck more air but none of that horrid induction noise
-
sidestand switch operated?
-
the thing with fins is a 6v ac regulator, the diode rectifier is mounted under the fuel tank towards the front
-
rectifier diode shorted?
-
so its a different key to the ignition...it was first sold with the same
-
have the nozzle only just inside the neck of the filler of course
