  1. not when the neutral light isnt on!
  2. yes i checked and it's either on top of the engine where i said or in that vicinity. With a multimeter check it for continuity or if you dont have a multimeter...with ignition on and using a piece of electrical cable touch the connection and at the other end touch to chassis (engine case) this should bring the lamp on...if it does the switch may be faulty...if it doesnt the bulb / connections may be faulty. Light green connects to blue on the switch
  3. Dunno...never had one of those bikes. Try on top of the engine case near the drive sprocket...they usually have just one wire ...may be behind the chain case cover also but i'm just guessing. Have you got a wiring diagram it may help as you could see the wire colour on there?
  4. Greetings benny, great little bike...good luck with the resto
  5. its often the way that the clutch has to be pulled like we said earlier

befor rushing into buying a new one try connecting the black of your 3 wire relay to ground....it may well work

    xt relay

some are 2 wire and some are 3 wire...buy the one that equals the number of wires you have. At a guess i would say the cylindrical ones are 3 wire and the square ones 2 wire...thats often the way with DT's which have similar electrics
  16. looks like the previous owner wast so bothered but they make grips specially for custom style bikes http://motorcycle-parts-accessories.co.uk/product/8084/oxford-hot-grips-for-custom-bikes-1-inch-handlebars?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic
  17. Obviously you are not familiar with the boats.net website! and obviously the OP was too rude to respond to the reply he got back in April!

so you have a manual but it doesnt tell you what oil to use and where to fill / drain it or even how much to use? what manual is is it?
  19. but rather than risk a fail because they dont have one you could use one of those often fitted to the rear of bicycles
  20. yeah that looks very nice...now for the but ! but you will need a reflector to pass the MOT

Really kearnsy you should buy a manual and read it rather than have to ask about every little detail. Its a TDR, I never had one but my DTR oil went in a tank at the front behind the radiator scoop. Maybe yours is under the seat...I dunno but be careful not to pour oil in the cooling expansion tank. The gearbox oil fill is obvious although the drain plug isnt

dont use the heavy transmission oil kearnsey, your clutch will drag and gear selection will be clunky...neutral selection will be nigh on impossible i would expect. use any motorcycle specific oil for the transmission, personally i use motul transoil but there are many more...have a look at the opie oils site, they are doing an offer at the moment arent they? isnt there a post up about it?
  23. i'll see if theres any left at work next week.
  24. ok PM me your email and i will attempt to send it, if someone else wants it, you send the next one etc etc
