  1. great intro mike, wish more would take the trouble, that honda sounds a great buy...you bought it just in time to cover it in salt
  2. i posted in your other more appropriate thread kelzi, this ones for intros really
  3. i would strip the carb and look for a partially blocked pilot jet
  4. thanks for the update, usefull stuff
  5. has your bike got an intact loom Geo.. ?
  6. Greetings kelzi no doubt the bike has a vacuum operated fuel tap, the 2nd pipe (vacuum) will plug onto a spigot somewhere on the engine side of the carb throttle valve (slide), thus when the engine is running...vacuum is created and this in turn opens the fuel flow to the carb. as for the overflowing perhaps the carburettor float valve has jammed, initially try tapping the carb with the wooden stock of a hammer...I said 'tapping'
  7. well thats a great help Jim
  8. Ahh its never going to fly with a guy your size but if you check the ignition timing, keep the exhaust de-carbonised and a clean air filter you wont go far wrong, they are a great little fun bike scooter...enjoy..up yours is just having a laugh and hes showing off because he did lose a lot of weight and thereby made his LC faster
  9. yean an intro in 'New Members' its good manners you see, rather than here I am fix my bike!
  10. yeah just buy a yamaha one
  11. greetings rick, be nice to see it as was and as is
  12. you can test the pump if youre not sure, pull the pipe from the carb or manifold, block off the spigot with something (not bluetac etc) maybe a pice of tape. start the bike and allow it to idle, turn the pump puuey by hand to max a see if the oil pulses out of the pipe, is the oil clean? how about the 'Intro' Dan?

    yamaha tdr

theres a sight glass, bike upright and engine cold, halfway is good
  14. yeah keep filling, running, draining etc and eventually the water should be clean, only then drain a last time and fill with de-ionised (distilled) water and anti-freeze solution...winters coming . In the shrt term keep an eye on the level in the radiator when its cold untill you have some confidence in it. Tip, when filling a drained system keep squeezing (pumping) any exposed rubber hoses to expel air and reduce the chances of airlocks
  15. i dont think water in the tank should be all that hot, hard to say but its only an expansion tank!! beware if it gets hot as you say, blown head gasket can do that trust in the light, it either works or doesnt, if it says hot it is hot and theres a reason for it
  16. the tank wont get hot Dan, let it all cool and check the level in the radiator if you can...must be cold though!
  17. yes in the centre Pete, you may find some flats on the insisde of the forklegs, use calipers to measure to the rim edge.. you would be best measuring the offset of each wheel though first
  18. an intro would be good, this is more often than not a discharged battery, re-charge it. if it then works but fails soon after replace it
  19. greetings Ruby, keep it clean and serviced, look after the chain adjustment and lube and most of all yourself
  20. thats lucky, might have taken longer without the prior knowlege, incidentally you may know this but disconnecting the ig switch would have given you a spark
  21. youll need new oil, a new cover gasket and the plates, try wemoto. you shouldnt have any trouble if you have some know how, Take care with the plain plates they sometimes need to put in...in a certain order around the basket to achieve balance...or vibration will occur, try wemoto for your parts of course you need a little slack in your cable before you delve this deeply
  22. haha
  23. doesnt work
  24. well done NEO
  25. Greetings Roy, is it fuel injected, does it have a manual choke...not familiar
