I just dont want to see your enthusiam dashed by not being sure she's ready mate. I added a few more things for you to check but I still think your time margin is way to tight...we'll see. has your bike got a full loom have you the lights and switches to fit?

TZR 50 carb setup
you need to find the best main jet size though first and the only way to do that is full throttle plug chops with caution, I said 1/4 to 1/2 mile but at first try the 1/4 in case its lean and the plug shows white, member wild foamy had a 50 to 80 big bore on his DT, might be worth seeing how he jetted for that one?

No way George cancel the MOT, you need to have her 100% or youre wasting your time, anyway you havent even got lights yet let alone any other issues, fork play at the steering head, bent fork stancheons, pitted fork stancheons, leaking fork seals, tyres, spokes, horn, swing arm play, wheel bearings, brakes, lights!!! do you think a week is realistic

TZR 50 carb setup
and is the throttle needle position also adjustable, with a clip and choice of grooves ?

I dont know how much you can chew George, myself...I would be taking it off and examining the piston / rings / bore but if you dont know much it may be difficult to check and make judgement...hw are your machanical skills, electrical skills etc, i get a feeling this is going to be quite a test for you

TZR 50 carb setup
in a word NO...sorry dad! more likely a jetting issue. I cant stress enough you need to act with caution to prevent serious engine damage...fit the bigger jet right away and continue to plug chop etc and not use the bike until you sort it

Thats the pulley, as you twist the throttle the pulley turns, it doesnt turn by the engine, you will see the piston and pulley pulsing back and forth when the engine runs, the more the throttle is opened (hence pulley turned) the bigger the pulses, you can test it by turning the pulley by hand briefly as the bike idles. Dont overdo it though because it will smoke heavily if prolonged.

TZR 50 carb setup
the thing is though are you copmaring like with like, have the jets the same thread and are the carbs the same make, it does rather sound like the 85 is too small and if this is the case you are seriously risking a holed piston or seizure so treat with extreme caution doing a plug chop , i would be tempted to inspect the two jets for starters and fit the one with the bigger orifice ASAP, then take it from there

TZR 50 carb setup
hills are best to load the engine, full throttle 1/4 to 1/2 mile would be enough, try to pick a safe road without too much traffic in front or behind or at least a quiet time. Do you know the jet sizes that are in each of the carbs?

HI
Greetings kelzi you lad has chosen a great looking ped, more akin to a bike than a scooter, if he looks after it well i doubt he would lose when it comes to re-sale for a 125 etc.

you need to have the exhaust off Geo, for all you know theres no gasket in there and performance can be affected by so many things including this...

Yamaha newbie (uk) Miss Beanz :)
greetings Beanz yeah great to see you are not giving in, as for 140 in the rain rather you than me lol. the YBR may be a good choice as not too crouched, it seems sportsbike may be off the menu for you

TZR 50 carb setup
6 turns out is just plain wrong! 1 1/2 is more like it, jet numbers increase as the jet gets bigger. plug chops are the order of the day...are you familiar with them?
- I'm sorry but I bought a Honda too....(just til I get through my test though)
