  1. i would stick with 3rm 20 if that was what's on the bike, one of the others may be restricted perhaps? just a guess!

  3. yeah the wiring diagram is in the Haynes book, the one with the brown cover you said you were going to get? and.......... your bike is the DT175F (Not E) The E does have the lights switchable F model has no light switch so I assume the lights are always on Haynes ISBN 1 85010 300 3 Have you tried this American forum, but of course our is better http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/47-vintage/
  4. so Richard, what switches are on your lefthand switch unit? my bike (granted..a uk model) position 3* with the ignition switch brings on the tail and front pilot lamp even with the lights set to OFF on the handlebar unit, in fact the handlebar unit only controls the headlamp bulb, so set it to ON with key at position 3 for the headlamp to work *...Position 1 being OFF

  15. thats why i asked about the base gasket try the push start with choke and a new plug
  16. try a new sparkplug and gather a few mates round for a push start. after a winter layoff i couldnt start mine for love nor money, changed the plug and away she went. Then fitted the original plug back in and no problem whatsoever!!!...weird
  17. cammy did you replace the cylinder base gasket when you took the cylinder off, are you sure you didnt leave any broken gasket from the old one behind? Greetings and

  19. wow a junkyard!!! that wouldnt happen here in uk are these now or before? notable differences are the front fender, silencer and amber reflectors on the headlamp bracket have you got a parts list?
  20. Them yuniparts lamps look pretty good to me and i like the grille they have re-produced, never seen one 'in the flesh' though, will they accept a 12v bulb? the bike is looking good,... if a little out of focus.

  22. hi mate, tell us some more, how can it possibly be that you feel you have to replace ALL this stuff?
  23. i guess its a cdi ignition? test the resistances of the magneto pulse coil and source coil, also the Ht ignition coil, you will find the info in your workshop manual
  24. you could just try turning the bars over, you would need to determine if they will collide with the tank at full steering lock!
