DT175G Piston & Rings installation
Pack the crankcase with rags until you have the gugeon pin (wrist pin) clips fitted, just in case you drop one. Maybe even place the gugeon pin in the freezer for a while to shrink it to aid fitting

DT175G Piston & Rings installation
the rings ar both different, the bottom one os parallel and the top one is a 'keystone' section...be sure to fit the right...there us a cutout at the edge of each ring to go around the peg

Electric start for two stroke

commuting to work on the dt in the 80's an extremely cold winters morning, all the way there I was so careful and took it easy...fell off on the turn in to work, much to the amusement of the works security guards...I'm sure it made their day...lazy bastards hadnt bothered to grit the entrance!

Hi all
Greetings Tim, they're a fantastic looking bike of you like the V twin cruiser types..I cant believe they are only a 125 when i see them...great choice, dont expect it to keep up with lighter bikes though...It's the 'look' with those not the performance.

1992 DT175 Idle cut out
most likely an m5 thread dont worry about the oil, the bike is cold...hasnt been run much...so its a bit premature to be doubting it, they ayways emit more oil / smoke briefly when cold

1992 DT175 Idle cut out
is there a drain screw at the bottom of the fork leg, on the outside of each leg? if so...get a long screw that fits and grind the end to a point then screw it in until it hits the taper spindle and 'nip it up' this may get a hold of the thing while you undo the bottom allen key
