Good choice of bike, the cat is pretty bomb proof and can take a bit of stick as you progress. You will soon be asking "which tyres are best for trackdays" and the like, no doubt!

How tall is he? It can sometimes be that very tall riders can benefit from an aftermarket screen. Also the make and type of helmet worn can have a big effect. Might be worth having a lend of a different make to see if it makes a difference.

Are you refering to an underseat R1? If so you just undo all three pipe clamps, remove the seat cowling, take off the LH and RH heat shields from the mounting brackets and lift away the end cans and cat "Y" piece. Fit the new "Y" piece, new cans and link pipes line it all up, do all the clamps up, replace the heat shields and seat cowl. there is nothing too hard about any of this so long as you have the basic tools you should be ok. If it not an R1........... I dunno

It all depends on what YOU like the look and sound of. You wont get any real power gains without a fueling mod and dyno settup, whatever you go for. Cheaper brands tent to make more noise at the expense of power anyway. When you make your choice bear these things in mind: Make sure it is E marked and does not say "Race use only" or "not for road use" it is a right pain when the the old bill start sniffing, or at Mot time. get one with a removable baffle, so you can keep the noise police happy if you have to When fitted, go through villages, and around built up areas in a high gear with low revs so you don`t attract too much attention. Unless you like being the victim of an ever increasingly oppressive government. Having said all that, go for a Yoshi. TRS, Coz they look cool and sound like a banshee on heat

You still gonna need to spend a shed load on the brakes though, coz the first time the r6 guy/ gal throws the anchor, you are giong to be a double act in a hospital pantomime

Before you spend a lot of money, go to Halfords and get some wide angle stick on "blind spot" mirrors. sick them in the corner of your exising mirror, you will be surprised at how much you can see in such a small mirror, and they only cos a couple of quid. Works for me on the R1 excellent round town and bloody useless at 100+ when you should be more worried about whats in front anyway Not that you can see anything out of `em at this time of night!!

(Was going to make the obvious comment, but thought better of it ) Same thing Happened to me on my R1, on the way home from the dealership They supplied me with a new one FOC, as they had put it on for me. You have to give it a good push and listen for the accompanying "click" to make sure its home

It is because thats when they stopped producng engines and frames in the same factory. They used to get numbered at the point of assembly, so could be matched at that time. When engines and frames are made in different locations around the world, they are already numbered and so cannot be matched at point of assembly. Especially for models that have common engines in different frames or one frame that takes different engines.

For sports 600`s, the easiest to get to grips with is probably a Su5"£! GSX R600, ( sorry Mr. Y, the R6 is trail bike high by comparison) the 06+ models are particularly low and kits to lower are simple and work well. For something (a bit) more relaxed, they do a fully faired bandit GSX 650F, which looks the part, and again lowers well. And they also do the SV650 V twin, which is supposed to be ok. Seems the "S" has cornered the market for supplying 600 class bikes to the vertically challenged A mate of mine who is 5`2", has a Kwack. ER 650F, with the forks dropped and a lowered rear shock, (gone down about 30mm all round) and he still goes tippy toe. The finish is Sh!£e as well, and its a right lumpy ride. Just keep trying diferent bikes till you find one she likes, Its not all about height, its leg length that`s the key issue.

Hagon shocks are good enough for everyday use. You could spend a lot more money on a lot worse. Careful of any genuine yam shocks on ebay etc, they are going to be a old as the one on your bike, and probably just as shot. You cant tell by looking at the nice shiney finish on the outside, its whats inside that counts. If you want to spend a LOT of money, you could double the value of your bike a stick a nice brand new Ohlins item on, but unless you ride like a god and spend all your time on a track, you will probably never get any real value out of it.
  19. The most common name for a village here is "BOURNE END" Or "BORNE END". 34, i think at the last count. usually a hamlet attached to a larger conurbation. A lot don`t even make it into the map indexes.

"Tall" Paul had a fox eye exup, I`m sure it was all standard. It had Upside down Forks A one piece riders / pillion seat Six pot callipers (like a YZF 750) Although it looked very similar to the FZR600 and YZF 750 of the day, there were less common parts than you would think.
