Let me know if you can't find some particular part, i know some people how have loads of spare of 'old-skool' TT's. Also, there is some guy selling a lot of parts on e-bay. However, he is selling it as TT600R parts (and they are not ....) Also, i maintain a website www.tt600r.nl ... if you sent a picture of your bike and progress, i will put it there (if you want, off course) Take care Steve
  4. Hi Mike, I have been away for some time so that is why my reply is so late Yep, the battery is charged while riding Steve

Hi David, i only read your question recently. I belive the 1986 model is not that different from the 1989 TT600, so you should be okay. I use a 1984 XT600 shop manual for my 2002 TT600R, the basic set-up of the engine has not changed. For parts, check www.kedo.de. They have loads of new parts for your TT Steve

Try german ebay or www.tt600r.eu ('TT-Kiosk/aufkleber/TT600(S)'

German e-bay. www. ebay.de. Parts come along frequently
  9. i have serious doubt about that. The shape of the newer modell XT600E is very different, and older models are bigger I know a WR400/426/450 headlight fits a TTR headlight, plus this German firm sell aftermarker TTR headlights over e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.de/Scheinwerfereinsatz-Kla...1QQcmdZViewItem

I order most of my stuff through a German online shop www.kedo.de . They are secialized in Yamaha XT/ST/TT models. I got the tank via e-bay. www.offtheroad.de is a nice source as well
  11. To power the electric roadbook, the IMO tripmeter and the GPS, plus to make sure traffic can still see me of the bike stalls at a traffic light, i have mounted a little battery behind the left sidepanel. I found this battery on http://www.kickstarter-classics.de, article MA-RP. It costed me EUR 28.00 including postage. I removed the tools in the toolbox, drilled a little hole for the wires, warmed the box under the tap to make it flexibel and squeezed the battery in place. I put it in a section of an old innertube to protect it and prevent it from opening on the trail. The red wire was connected to the red wire that comes out of the rectifier, the red/black wire goes to the frame. I have connected al the navigation-stuff to the headlightswitch, so they can be switched of if i park my bike over night. I may use an special wire with a separate switch in the future pics. http://stteve.smugmug.com/gallery/4243767#248367951

1999 WR400F rearwheel is similar to a TTR, only the bearings have a different size.
