A bit of a disappointing end to the mystery rattle guys, the mechanic gave the whole bike a once over and said there is nothing wrong with it at all but he couldn't tell me what was causing the rattle, all my suggestions as to what it could have been (with the help of you guys) he dismissed! R1evad your modesty remains in tact.

HAHA, whatever the dealer says to me i'm tempted to say it wasn't the Cam now!

Hey all, my R6 has developed a rattle on tick over, it sounds like a you are shaking a bolt in an empty tin can (probably not as quite as bad as that to be fair)! As soon as the revs pick up it goes it's just on idle? It's difficult to say exactly where it's coming from but is certainly not affecting the riding or performance. Any ideas?

Does everybody use 98?

Is it advisable to use High Octane fuel on an R6 or stick with the standard unleaded?

I've recently bought an 02 R6 with only 3k on the clock, all original and no tell tale signs of excessive hard riding. I have put about 300 miles on it and twice now (only twice) at hard acceleration it has jumped out of gear, part of me feels if there was a problem it would happen far more often another part feels that there must be something wrong. Is it possible for the rider to not quite put it in gear solidly enough so it does jump out at high revs or is it a case of if it's in it's in and shouldn't come out? Any help would be good. Bazza

I've got round the wife and am now planning a trip to ride to one of the GP races this year, but which one? I've never been to a round outside of the UK so Assen is my 1st choice, not sure why but it looks a nice ride and is a great circuit but I could be persuaded to go to Le Mans or other European rounds, any advice as to which are the better ones ? (6 year history) Had a GSXR 600 K1, good fun but it felt like ever other bike on the road was a GSXR 600, no originality at all! Then got a Daytona (T595), again great fun but unreliable and a heavy old lump! Then had a rush of blood to the head and bought a XR400R (first ever off roader) complete insane bike but not for me. I've just bought an immaculate, completely original 2002 R6 with only 3k on the clock and am just getting used to it, it seems a great bike, a bit twitchy and high revs but what do you expect! Any tips, advice (polite comments only guys) I need to know for riding or maintaining it? Barry
