    Found this, its A dt250mx, [ yeh the mx =mono shock,] introduced in 1977. DT250D, 1R7 is euro/uk models 1M1 is USA, , 1R6 - DT400. uk/euro. 1M2 usa,DT400 ... pull the flywheel of to see the coils, if your is a late model it will be CDI = 3 Coils

    Is that the bike in your avatar ?, looks like a DT250D/E/F, E REAL mx250 would have no oil pump and bigger exhaust . pull the fly wheel see what in there, 2 coils and your in business

    YEH Unscrew the plug cap , cut 8mm off the H,T lead. and refit, .. [ ilimination process ] I take the fuel is fresh, And the next time it does this, make shure its the spark, put spare plug in cap earth it to head, and turn it over,

    Yip, it has to be the pilot jet, take it out, can you rev it with choke on, hold 3000 rpm, then turn off choke ,see what happens, engine needs to be cold, or choke will kill it too.

    I had two mates [ 1977 THAT WAS] had them TY50P"s , my they were slow, [ legislation] one rode to Aviemore [ 90mls ] on it, I had my DT175C.[ like Nayruff"s ], and at the campsite we saw a DT400B, we thought it was massive, we were all 11 stone then , Happy days,,,,,

    Looks substantial bit of kit, I would bolt to floor, I use the sissor flatbed [ in same add], but for bike under 150kg, good prices for his items tho.
