    Hi cornell" the soarse coil is the one for spark, this is a wire wound object screwed to the stator plate, thers another at oppisite side,[ lighting coil] , the brushes you broke , were they on the starter motor, ? this system will start without a battery, is yours the DT125E,, , it might be a 12 volt system , parts are harder to find,

    Yeh the swivel cover is a rivit, it should slide into hole [ loose] i gave mine a gentle flatten at end, and punched it in , not too tight, You"ve got the bug then , all them N.o.s. parts, cover the headstock sticker, and dont blast it off, i would paint the frame, smooth black,,

    Yip " as dt50 says, ditch the filtre, then the plug, see if the powervalve works, then exhaust, the last stroker i had with poor compression, was a pig to start,, but your tdr is starting good , so i dont think is comp.
