Some NOS will do the job
-
Dunno - i didnt do it lol - well - jacked it up a bit and done some "interior" work but thats about it. The GSXR project we have on the go at the mo has taken about 18 months but thats been due to a lack of time - it will be ready in a few weeks though.

Vance and Hines are a good start - but you will need the front header pipe off your stock exhaust as theses are not a full system I have Caligula Wave on mine - and theres no discolouration whatsiever on them - take a look at my profile - theres a piccy on there.

Absolutely outrageous. Bit like the footballer Luke McCormick who was weaving across the road and more than twice the legal alcohol limit AND wasnt even insured for the range rover he was driving when he was involved in a crash that killed two young boys aged 8 and 10. Their father is in intensive care at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with a broken back and neck, plus severe internal injuries. I bet he gets nothing more than a small ban and a even smaller fine

Your Yamaha dealer needs to do his homework. The only difference in models is the 49 state and the Californians. Other than that there is NO difference. As i said previously - mine is a 49 state one and i have NEVER had any problems fitting european parts so he is talking through his arse. As him what exactly he thinks the differences are........ Why dont you just ask them if you can return the pipes if they dont fit before you buy them?

My folks live in Fiji - therefore the only time we can call each other is early morning or very late in the evening as they both work. Sometimes i dont get to speak to them for a couple of weeks so Facebook is a great way of keeping up to date wth each other, and they get to see pictures of my children on a regular basis as the email out there is pants so they dont always get them. Both my brothers are in the army and facebook is one of the few applications they can access when they are away on manoevres, so again its a great way of keeping in touch - even if its just to say hi.

Thats because i have no life..... This is another that came up for sale a few weeks back. This one is a 650 - if i had had £4950 ida snapped his hand off: Yamaha V-Star 650 2003. built by Moonshine Steel in Pine Knot, Kentucky. Just under 3,000 miles on the bike. The neck has been raked 40 degrees and a set of 6 degree Triple T’s added. ‘Forking by Frank’ of provided the 4 inch over stock 41mm fork tubes. 60 Spoke chrome 21inch front wheel. Rear suspension lowered by repositioning the shock mount . Sits at about 4 inch ride height and seat is at about 20 inches. The custom steel rear fender is attached to custom made brackets giving it that low tyre hugging look. 18 inch 1.25 diameter Apehangers with internal electrical wiring. Maltese Cross mirrors, turn signals and tail light on billet side mount for licence plate, all LED plus a Cobra Rocket Headlight. Hard Chrome 2.5 inch big straights exhaust system, Mapam forward controls and custom seat. Now THAT is what i call a NICE Dragstar

I have never fitted one and i donmt know of any that have been fitted. If you wanna go down the path of odding your bike - as i am - then i can possibly help you out. I am in touch with the guy who owns this beauty: Piccies arent great but this is what he's done to it: Seats re-covered. Forward controls. Snake exhaust. Solid s/s rear wheel, Snake eye headlight. Boomerang handlebars. Billet ally leavers. Hypercharger, etc etc, too many to list here atm! Custom cruisers have some great stuff - but they are damned expensive. Shop around a bit or PM me and ill send you some details of bike places inthe US that i get my gear from if u like.

i love you I will do it after the weekend for ya, i am goign to Scotland today for a powsh wedding so when i get back sunday i will post some just for you

No The Classic front fender is wider than the custom. The front tyre on a 650 custom is 100/90 and on a classic it's 130/90. Im not sure about the rear one though. If you get the Classic and want the bobbed rear fender look that the custom has then just chop it off. Personally i much prefer the Classic - i like that "fat" look get the complete specs for both bikes here: CLASSIC CUSTOM

Im sorry you feel like that, but its your decision, and one i just dont get, I am a student of prosthetics and orthotics, which means i work with people who have lost limbs or who need help with a limb that does not work correctly be it congenital or accidental. We get a few bikers through the clinics - but not as many as have lost limbs through Peripheral vascular disease or diabetes....... I too have many friends who have been involved in accidents - one of our good friends lost his left arm 2 years ago - recently one of our trike-riding female friends was killed only 2 weeks back - but it doesnt stop us from riding and it never will - so i just dont get it. It does not compare whatsoever to taking your dog for a long walk - and yes we too too have a dog....a fuckin big Bordeaux! Pic is my OH Lee and Marvyn our dog (i am a girly in case you were wondering!) Live to ride ride to live, another member on here takes his dog on the bike with him! If our dog wasn't so big then i might give that a shot meself! Its a shame that one or two minor incidents - and they are minor compared to what many of us have been involved in or know of - has put you off, but good luck with your new dog - enjoy him/her - and keep it on a lead away from the bluddy roads!!
-
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your dog, but i have to ask - what happened? As for risking your life - thats what your observations are for. Yes there are some myopic driers out there but if we all thought like you then none of us would be riding. I have had one serious accident in the years i have been riding - which was my own fault. I do not claim to be the safest or best rider in the world - far from it, but thats what al lthese advanced riding courses are there for. There are lots of "dangerous" activities out there, and lots of reasons why folk have accidnets - its not always someone elses fault.

Some info to clear up any confusion about the new motorcycle test: The new practical motorcycle test will be introduced from 29 September with the aim of improving the standard of road safety for motorcycle and moped riders. Motorcyclists face greater risks than most other groups of road users; this is particularly the case for young and inexperienced riders. The fee for the standard weekday new practical test will be £80.00. Bookings made by trainer bookers will be taken from Monday 4 August. The new test event will contain two elements. The higher speed exercises and other exercises will be tested on safe off-road sites and take about 10 minutes to complete. The accompanied on road element of the test will follow, consisting of a road ride covering a variety of road and traffic conditions and will also include normal stops, hill and angle starts. Candidates who have demonstrated riding skills of a dangerous or incompetent level during the off-road part of the test will not be permitted to proceed to the on-road element. These new exercises include: At least two exercises carried out at slow speed, including a slalom At least two exercises carried out at higher speed, of which one exercise should be in second or third gear, at a speed of at least 30 km/h (approx. 19 mph) and one exercise avoiding an obstacle at a minimum speed of 50 km/h (approx. 32 mph) At least two braking exercises, including an emergency brake at a minimum speed of 50 km/h (approx. 32 mph) On the day of the test, you will be asked by the examiner to demonstrate your riding ability on either the left-hand or right-hand circuit. Please note that the standard off-road layout may change due to local conditions. Follow the link to see the standard maneuvering diagram with measurements. LINKY LINKY The practical moped riding test The practical moped riding test (which does not include the 50 km/h requirement) will also be carried out from the new test centres, where both the obstacle avoidance and emergency braking exercises will be carried out at 30 km/h (approx. 19 mph). A test for the drivers of motorcycle and side car combination has also been developed. Delivery of the new test From 29 September, we anticipate 39 MPTCs being operational and able to accommodate the off-road part of the new test. In those areas where there will be an MPTC becoming operational after 29 September, a number of casual hire sites will be made available on a temporary basis – please continue to check the website below for further updates. Bit like the one who lost his head a while back. Everyone was up in arms because North Wales police chief Richard Brunstrom showed the photos of his headless body to a select few of reporters invited to a closed meeting, without asking the permission of his family. Many folk were up in arms about it - but the knob was riding with no licence, no insurance and false plates. He hit a car coming the other way that was carrying a young family - but not many spared a thought for them, and no one asked their permission for an uninsured, unlicensed fuckwit to smash into them. Brunstrom is a first class twat any day of the week, but this time i happen to think he was right........

The one that got me was hidden in a layby behind a lorrry just around a bend on a dual carriageway. There is NO pedestrianisation and NO schools or elderly folk anywhere near - and i was doing 5mph over the limit. I was speeding and i was wrong to, but fair enough if i had been near a school or pedestrians etc - but i wasnt and THAT (and the sneaky way they hid) is what pissed me off.
-
The test isnt harder - just a bit more to it - not a lot has changed really so i wouldnt worry. Good luck

I so love a good streetfighter thread Depends what you wanna do. If you wanna bring the seat height up then jack up is the best way and the quickest way. Put shorter dogbones on it - about £15 they are. DONT lower the front end it will throw the whole bike out. My bandit has straight bars on it and the back jacked right up. Another way is to chop the subframe off, cut it down and weld it back on - or put another subframe on it. Our GSXR project has a cut down R1 subframe on it. If you want any help/advice drop me a PM - we build fighters all the time.
-
Nothin -if he hadn't posted the link. Forum etiquette is not posting links to another forum about the same subject. If soemone came on my forum posting a link to another streetfighter site or other such thing i would not be happy - quiet or not.

Sounds like you may have become a little complacent on the way back - next time ride the whole test like you just started till you get off the bike at the test centre at the end instead of patting yourself onthe back before its done - happen that you let your concentration lapse a little. It WAS observations you failed on. You did not observe the no left turn sign - so dont beat yourself up about it. Get yourself a cancellation booked ASAP and remember what you did wrong. It wasnt anything major and you did extremely well honey - you should be pleased with yourself nonetheless

As far as i am aware they do not make paddock stands for Dragstars or other cruisers. They are called service stands and are a hydraulic jack-up system likeyou already said. Scroll down HERE and they have a good selection of service stands for cruisers - and quite reasonably proced too.

This is old news and it aint gonna happen. See Here As for the speeding bker - there will be more to it than that - he probably already has a load of points and he was being pursued by the police in that video - failing to stop is a serious offence on its own............. serves him right.....
