  1. not familiar with european xs's models, is it cast wheel or spoke, if spoke is it aluminum or chrome? try to loosen the axle then check fit, then tighten, see if you need a shim on axle or shim on caliper, I put them on my 78 cast wheel and on a 76 im working on now with spokes, the spoke wheel I had to use xs 11 rotors which had a smaller dish. and OH man wait till you bleed em , there a buger to bleed! .
  2. ive seen em drilled but never quit like that! theve taken a lot of support out of em. & dang those are huge ass valves!
  3. not sure if this applies to above models, have you swapped oil types? is clutch adjusted properly? also on some bikes the neutral detent switch can wear, i just got this tip and im trying it on my xs, shim out the spring on the detent switch by placing a washer or two beneath it, it will give the detent plunger a little umphh. hope this helps.
  4. did you try vjmc board?

cut some old tailight reflectors & glued with high temp silicone, bar ends work good on the frame cuts at tail too, you have to grind em down a little or champher out the frame rails but they fit. beats weldin them shut and screwin up the paint.

ive got a sorta thing bout bikes, cut every freakin thing not needed off, lose every goofy ass saftey switch and yes lose the keys, slap a padlock on it if needed. I run two switches on my tracker the horn is a button next to footpeg i can tap with my heel. I shitcan chrome, and use aluminum. when you get ready for the filter try ebay in gocarts, you can buy these around 12 bucks ea , they should have your size and there better than pods and look like K&N's. Remember when your done it will be cool and it will be yours. heres a filter link, but check your inlet size http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-K-N-STY...1QQcmdZViewItem

well snows freakin blowing , coldest winter since 67, IT WONT END. so I stuck on a set of 34 roundslides, wrapped my pipes , worked on my wiring, detailed some on off parts, and soon the 8ball special will be done.
  21. clubmans , way better.
  22. heres the part # for the brake rebuild kits, I cant find part # for the housing its self (not really sure why). I beleive there the same but cant remember how there # 's work for sure, I believe there the same using the last 8 digits for coding , that being said finding a master body for a 75 xs is gonna be a bitch to I think they only used that style for 3 yrs. (round body). remember these are rebuild kit #s not the actual part #'s xs 650 75 . 360-20000-10 xs 500 1A0-20000-10 try powersportpro, and or old bike barn, heres a few others http://www.nwvintagecycleparts.com/ http://vintagecyclepart.com/
  23. I think the xs 650 of the same year is the same , there were no stock dual disc xs 650 us version so the xs should work fine, but im betting your gonna have to find the correct yr xs or Tx . Id just shoot some jb weld into it stick in the bolt finger tighten it , let it dry and then try to tweek it a little tigher. or just drill it retapp with larger bolt, I think there 6mm bolts if pos go to 8, that shits super soft so itll retap . just a thought.
  24. im not sure on the xs 500 but this is what im running on my current xs 650 project, the whole setup is around 37.00, youve got to make a heat sinc for the the rectifiers but thats easy enough. its small and purty straight foward to set up. It replaces the stock reg&rec shown is first pic top rite corner.
  25. those bikes are freakin perfect, why wont yamaha bring em state side?
