I'm after some help and advice.
I have just bought a 94 YZF750R. Not had a bike for a few years. It's the same old thing. It works fine when you ride it away, and then the next day problems start to rear their ugly heads.
I've had it 3 weeks now and when it's cold (1st thing in the morning) or if it's raining, it's a bugger to get running. If I go straight in with the choke then it gets flooded. A few minutes later I'll get a backfire. Not really ideal at 0700hrs in a quiet culdesac!
If i try to start it without choke, it'll 'put put' and stop. The engine will turn over but there is no spark. Then, if I put the choke on, it'll take 2-3 atempts then it'll fire up - then stall. This will happen a good 5 times before it stays running. It'll warm up and the revs will increase to 3000rpm. Choke off and it'll idle at 1100rpm. Although a bit lumpy, I'll have no more problems.
Bit of a pain doing this every morning. The battery isn't gunna keep doing that for long!
When it's warm it'll start no problem. Although it'll still sit at 1100rpm and be a bit lumpy. Add 200rpm and it sounds fine. What should the idle speed be?
If anyone can help with the above problems I'd appreciate very much.
Cheers
Shane
