To be honest, you don't need a slipper clutch for road riding. Its just another gadget thats extremely useful on race bikes but just another gadget on the road. The only road bikes I would consider fitting one to are big twins like Ducatis etc, because the engine has more low down torque. In my opinion some of the latest trick bits just dull the rider's awareness of their control and what the bike is doing. Just take it steady over winter, learn about the road surface and the difference the weather can make to it and enjoy learning to use your own judgement. Come the summer, with dry roads and warm tyres you'll be able to get that much more out of the bike and be more involved with it rather than just a passenger.
