  1. Buy the service manual, it has all the wiring diagram. 20$ on E-Bay. And plus... it's very usefull if you want to do some repairs! If really you can't afford the book I could scan the diagrams for ya. My book covers FJ,FZ,XJ,YX600 1984 to 1992. BeerBaron
  2. Hello there, just got out my motorcycle yesterday. But I knew for sure it was ready for a tune-up since last year it was really rough and a little bit rich on gas. It's an Fz600 1988 So, Ive got a problem my spark plugs (all four) get carbonised afther only an hour and then, no fire (duh!). Here is what I already did: -Cleaned carbs, they are now clean. Everything seems fine - Balanced carbs, my idle is now better at low temps (they needed it!) - Removed air bowl and filter, still runs rich (I'll put it back later) - Adjusted a float height of 1mm but it was still on the specs before, juste made sure it was really precise. I'm now searching for a fuel level prolem in the carbs, adjusted a float of 1mm but I doubt that was it. So anybody has a good and comprehensive procedure to adjust fuel level in carbs ? Or even better, any suggestions on what the problem might be? BeerBaron
  3. Wow I never heard of limited mileage before. This is one of the most oppresive thing I ever heard about, it's not even their vehicule and they dare to tell you to limit the mileage!!! I would just cut the speedometer if that would be the case in Canada. BeerBaron
  4. I tough YZF R6 were 123 HP in 2004, and aren't ZX-6R 123 HP in 2004? Why would kawa put a 107 HP engine when they already have a 123 HP one on this year model? Unless youre talking about wheel base power which is another story BeerBaron
  5. Wow, I just went to get insurance on my Fz600 1988... I was expecting something like 300 Canadian $ . But since I'm 25, never received a ticket, and that my bike is rated as custom (beat me where they got that but it sure doesn't look like one), my rate is 100$. As a matter fact the rate is 84$ but the minimum insurance policy is 100$. Finally something in the motorcycling world that is not expensive ! BeerBaron

Hi I have an FZ600 1988. My front suspension is a little bit too soft. I'm planning on hardening it. I'm not sure if I should add and equal amout of ouil (2 tbsp) on both forks. Or add some air pressure into it. I think that putting aire pressure would be a better idea but is having the same pressure on both forks hard to do ? I have a compressor by the way. BeerBaron
  8. Yeah I tough about it, but doing a professionnal job seems quite hard. I have acces to a laser color printer so I would get pretty good quality but I'm still not sure I could do it. BeerBaron
  9. Great thanks guys BeerBaron
  10. Thanks, 17,95 for 4 stickers is not a bad price at all BeerBaron
  11. Hey guys where do you buy your decals, I'm currently searching for 2 Yamaha stickers about 14'' each. That'd be great if I could buy those from a desing shop online, who need to pay for original stickers at double the price of a design shop! Thanks BeerBaron

Just shut him up by racing him on a 1/4 miles track. He'll then shut up with it's factory car and agree that your bike is fiine. BeerBaron
  13. Yes it does have two headlight up front... Really like the look of those BeerBaron
  14. Hi guys, I'm new here and into biking. Happy to see some Yamaha fans out there. I just bought a FZ600 1988 and I'm currently repairing fairings (they were in BAD shape). Since I'm actually doing some work anyway I figured out it would be a good idea to change the tail light on it for something more appealing. Some of you guys know a light that would fit quite easily there to replace the current one. Another questions for you guys while your at it . You guys know where I could find a lower left fairing for my FZ. Used or new who cares as long as they are in good condition and not too expensive. Found one on e-bay but the guy says it's guide only specifies that the fairing is compatible with 86-87. Thanks BeerBaron
