  2. Hi out there, anyone fancy meeting up for a ride out? I live on Camposol near Mazarron and ride a Yamaha XVS650 (Dragstar) Those bikers out there who don't live in sunnier climes, the weather here at the moment in Spain is fantastic for biking.

Are there any Classic biker clubs in the Mazarron area? or bikers who just want to get together for ride outs? I live on Camposol and ride a XVS650 Classic

I fitted the "Mustang" saddles from Custom Cruisers to my xvs 650 Classic and they are really comfortable especially the passenger seat as it is wide and well padded.
  5. Hi Nicky, The oil filter is found on the r/h side near the foot brake lever just above the exhaust pipe. There is three M5 bolts securing a small round plate, undo these and you will have access to a M6 bolt. This bolt and the two other M6 bolts (towards the front) hold the oil filter cover plate. Undo these and remove the cover ( if you haven't drained the oil prior to removing this cover oil will come out but not a lot if the bike is leaning on it's side stand). as soon as you remove the cover the filter will be exposed. Good luck, I hope you don't have the problems I have. See xvs 650 oil leak. Sharpe95

I have an oil leak from the oil filter cover, after about 10km down a motorway, since the filter was "supposedly changed" by a local bike shop. The "O" ring has not been replaced as an xpat living in Spain it is almost like trying to find the holy grail. I tried to get one from the Uk but was informed "Your bike is an IMPORT, no can do" but the ring it's self does look ok and stands proud of the cover. To add to this the long bolt, M6 x 70mm situated at "9 o'clock" was stripped, only catching the first couple of threads on the crank case. There was still another 5mm depth so I fitted a 6M x 75mm bolt which cured the stripped thread problem but I still have an oil leak. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a knack fitting the filter ? as it drops at an angle when being positioned prior to fitting the case. Does anyone know of a dealer that would send me a new "O" ring for a oil filter cover without needing the bike model number or my blood group?.
