Hi all, hoping someone could shed some light on the rear caliper of my r1, because it has two bleed nipples? is there an order on which to bleed first? i can happily bleed the front brakes with no problems ive just never bled anything with two nipples? And if anyones got an opinion on what type of pad works best on the rear, ie; std yamaha or uprated hh? Anyway thanks again y'all and ride safe!

I had a 03 r6 that was restricted, i took it to a friend in a garage, it took him maybey half an hour to get the big washers out and 5 minutes to get the throttle stop off by from what i remember by bending it off! no damag to anything, and wow what a difference!

Nah, i know the forks are good coz i bought them to rebuild the crashed bike, the original fork and yoke set up was fu**ked, cracked bottom yoke, clean snap down the middle of the top yoke, one bent fork with a broken caliper mount, and the top nut on the other fork was copletely ground away! The forks i wana fit were bought from partfinder from a low millage bike! but do you know if the 5jj wheel will fit the later forks? thanks Sam

Hi all, i posted this in the sportbike section but got no replies, hopefully sum1 can help me in here! Does a 2001 front wheel from an r1 fit on the slightly later 02 model? Because im putting forks from the later bike on my road 2001 model but the wheel off my later model is bent as a boomerang! Any help would be great!! ta sam

yep, i agree coz i been doing the same! But now i wana hear some feedback about the BT015, and the other day i read that i think the new gsxrs will be coming on BT016's! But as far as the 014 goes, top tyre!

Hi i got a 5jj R1 aswell so i know they need it, but the thing is i was on a tight budget so i found that a LSL damper + fitting kit only cost me about £130 instead of the £250-£300+ of the normal across the tank types! Ok to be fair its not a billion times ajustable like sum but i think its definatley a good idea as a starter kit to get used to the feeling of having a damper, i mean the first time i did 100mph+ with the damper wound up, it was like the bike was on rails!! GET ONE!

Hi there, ive been riding for a few years, ive had an R6, fz6, wr450f,02 r1, and now this one but ive always been of more the fast road rider rather than a stunter! By the looks of it i think im just being a PU*SY with it, time to grow sum balls i guess, engine cage, 12 bar, wrap all the fairings in cotten wool and store them in the shed, so it will only be me that gets FU*KED when it all goes wrong! HA HA HA WISH ME LUCK Sam

Hey all, this question has been floating round me head for a while, i realy struggle to get my front wheel up (01 yzf r1) when i bought the bike the forks had been raised through the yokes, of the top of my head by mabey 20-25mm, would this change in geomitry afect the bikes willingness to come up? The chances are this is my crazy imagination, but if anyone has either experience or a clue on the matter it would be good to have a chat Thanks Sam

Hi all, as yamaha have used these awsome brakes on so many different bikes someone must be able to help! (i hope) How difficult is it to service the calipers, do you need a special service tool to remove the outer piston plugs(the gold spot bit) or can all the seals be changed with just the piston pushed back into the caliper?? If it makes a difference they are calipers of a 2003 R1 Any help would be great, Thanks Sam

Hey all, as i am a bit of a ditz i serviced my k&n the other day on my 01 R1 and just followed the instructions, cleanong the out side of the filter and re oiled the outside but it wasnt till i was putting it back together when i realised that the filter works from inside to out, so does that mean ive done it wrong? If anyone could help it would put my mind at ease! Thanks Sam
